I would , personally , not attack Gauls at this stage.

As Pumpkinstew has said they may have traps ( i found out the hard way

)

Resource up / cranny up / and attack Teutons ( but not me !! ) and Romans.

how many traps are they likely to have ?

I'm still a noob at 100, and I was pretty happy at just getting that far

Do traps show up on scouting reports?

No, i'm sure they don't.

if i attack a gaul i send everyone i have and click on "normal attack" so they get freed at the end. otherwise you have to go back for them

As a Roman I'm nervous about attacking small Gaulish villages.
They might have druids and giant menhir delivery men.

I'm finding it harder and harder to keep going. I keep getting attacked by people with hundreds of troops and it ain't going to get any better. I think a lot of attacks are done purely to stop us from growing too quick. After all, if we have no troops, then we can't raid, which means more for them.

Lucky I had no troops and had upgraded my cranny so he only got like 50 of each resource.

Raiding stopped being profitable for me a while ago, I'm just focussing on fields and crannies now.

It's a diffrent server with diffrent players and a diffrent game-state. You can't change your speed, everyone on the same server is at the same speed.

I still find the odd target to raid, and the extra income is useful, but it is getting rare.

I have been trying to get my fields built up, but then it gets hard to be able to leave it going over night without way too much resources just lying around that are not covered by crannies.

Do you not have 6000 cranny protection then?
