great story line game please

i want something that has a BRILLIANT story line, something to keep me entertained for hours, something like oblivion (not morrowind either, played all TES games), not form specific, apart from exclude fps unless your certain its gonna be good

so as you can guess. im stumped and have no idea. im bored of online play, i dont play any MMO's anymore... life eaters the lot of em. i play some online fps, but i am just looking for a modern game with a amazing storyline....

Hmm... NWN was great for multiplayer and 3rd party modules, but the OC was terrible IMO.

NWN2 and MotB might be a better bet - it's pretty much the reverse of NWN IMO. A good single player story, but not much in the way of multiplayer or 3rd party mods (yet)

TBH though, you can't surpass a couple of real oldies for story: PS:T, Fallout and Fallout 2. Nothing since has come anywhere close to any of these.

Mafia, one of my favourite games, getting on a bit though now. Fantastic storyline, and plenty of fun.

I know youre aiming more toward pc games here but Shadow Hearts 1 & 2 on the Ps2 had a fantastic storyline, not to mention a really atmospheric world.
