Green Lantern

Just back from seeing it.

It was average. Your run-of-the-mill superhero movie really. Enjoyable, but the story in place isn't anywhere near as strong as any of the graphic novels, for example. It felt rushed in some places, and slow in others.

I'd give it a 6/10.

The trailers made it look like DC wanted to do an Iron Man type film, bit jokey jokey, bit great power and lack of responsibility. All the comic book films over the last few years have been completely by the numbers affairs to me (even Iron Man), just too straightforward, play it safe, and so expecting anything like the cosmic Marvel/DC stuff to be done in a way that doesn't seem vaguely/completely ridiculous is a bit of an ask.

Saw this earlier this afternoon and pretty much agree.

I'm quite a big comic book fan so enjoy seeing how they adopt them to the big screen.

Also, the effects didn't impress me too much and the suit looked mega gay :p

Same here. They're all becoming so by the numbers it's ridiculous to me. Nothing at all is surprising... the entire movie plays out just like you expect it to. Meh.

Still, I'll be forced to watch it tomorrow by the Mrs. Can wash it down with Stake Land though.

The thing with these films compared to the like of Batman I guess is the ability of being able to take the realistic approach in Batman, considering a lack of any powers.

Well my lad has been banging on all week that he wants to go and see it so I guess I will take him to watch it. I am guessing it will be okay for what it is.

Even if you end up thinking the film is absolute rubbish its still watching for Blake Lively. Maybe its just me but I thought she looked stunning in this film

So how crap is this movie? Just seems made for uber geeks and from Ive seen it looks utter cringeworthy rubbish. Really hoping to avoid it, though I had the wrong impression of Thor and enjoyed that so the need to ask...

Im not a massive DC/Marvel fan so I dont know anything about their lesser superheroes...

It's an okay watch. His powers are pretty cool but the the villain is just meh... And I wasn't feeling the love story either.

Yeah, Parallax could have been handled better.

Still, I hope there's a sequel that will see Sinestro turn to the yellow light. Should make for a better storyline, similar to the animated First Flight.
