Green Screen

Tried resetting card with hotkeys when the screens go green and doesn't work. I got in contact with where I got the card from as it's still in warranty. They will check it and if faulty send me a new one.

Many AMD owners had same issue with green screen.

It is VRAM issue, try set VRAM timing to fast could fix green screen.

So I sent it back to them and they tested on dual and single monitors and it tested fine. So the GPU is not the issue.

I asked them what else it could be and they said this "Good afternoon, It could be a number of things. Driver issues could cause behaviour like this, or a failing power supply, or power supply not powerful enough to cope with the card being under load. During all tests on our site we experienced no issues. This was tested using a single monitor test bench and again using a dual monitor test bench"

It can't be the power supply failing under load as it happens when I don't even do anything. So I can only put it down to driver issues or the monitors/cables?

Do you have a spare drive? Could do a clean install of the os and latest drivers and see if you still get the problem. If you do you could just swap the drives back over and be back where you started.

Unsure if this has been mentioned but have you tried another pci slot for the gpu?

As above maybe a clean OS install might help.

What is the PSU model? It might be fine when the GPU is on full load but maybe it doesn't like how fast the demand is changing and could be getting it confused.

Another thing you could try is forcing PCIe into 3.0 mode and see if maybe that helps?

It's a Corsair 850W I believe. Can't remember of the top of my head. I'll try a clean install I guess. I'm not very good with PCs so how do I force it into 3.0 mode?

Hey guys,

I am wondering if there is anyone who can help me with this. I built my PC about 2 years ago (max) and in the last 2months or so I have issues where randomly both monitors will both go green and there is nothing I can do unless I hard reset the PC. Its so frustrating as it can happen at anytime.

There is no text on the screens with error codes etc. I will link a photo to show. https://ibb.co/C9TqzFw

Thanks in advanced to anyone who looks at this.
This is a driver issue with AMD most likely, had this with a Radeon 7770.
EDIT, 5700-XT too though not as bad as in your screenshot.

Should be a label on the PSU itself, but Corsair should be fine.

It's a setting within the BIOS, I had a look at the manual for the Strix but it doesn't really lay out all the settings. A quick search you might need to update the BIOS for the PCIe setting.

it not monitors/cables issue but yes it is driver issues.

Did you tried set VRAM to fast in Radeon settings?

I found a pic that may help you to find it in Radeon software.

If you already tried it and it didnt help then I recommend you to switch back to Nvidia to get RTX 3060 and you will be fine, no more stress and grief. AMD drivers are absolutely rubbish and far the worst ever, brought back bad memories of my old Sapphire HD 5870 have me lots of stresses tried to messed 10 official and modded AMD drivers with tons of settings but nothing worked with issues on every games. Reinstalled, clean installed Windows Vista and Windows XP did not fixed it but switched back to BFG GTX 260 with 1 driver worked fine with all games out of box with no changes in driver settings.

So i got my card back yesterday. I turned PC on and 20min in it green screened/crashed yet again. I disconnected 1 monitor (got duel) and Ive had it working for hours. So it seems to be when I have both monitors plugged in. Any idea why that could be?

For what its worth 1 is via Display port and the other is HDMI. Its the HDMI one thats causing the issue.

So currently I am now testing the HDMI display one and it also seems fine. So both work fine when the other isnt plugged in which indicates Monitors/cables and ports are ok?

Usually when you have dual monitors the idle clocks go up to keep things stable. I'm guessing these clocks aren't fully stable and adding hardware acceleration on top of that is enough to cause it to bug out. Try the recommended 22.5.1 drivers and see if they help.

Ok I will try and find that recommended driver.

Also are these the right settings to have ? Should I have Overclocking VRAM or overclock GPU.

Hmmm I dont see VRAM Timing on screenshot.

I browsed youtube found a video that should help you tweak settings to unlocked and enabled VRAM Timing.

So after using one monitor ALL day I had no issues. I plug second monitor in and set fast VRAM and green screens with 1minute. Looks like im gonna have to get bigger monitor and scrap duel set-up
