Agreed. I don’t think anyone is arguing the current implementation of var isn’t shocking.
We’ve had a lot of good fortune with it fortunately. But it’s not particularly correct.

The thing about the offside VAR is that I swear the cameras that they are basing the decisions off are **** at best. When it comes to an inch or two, literally 1/10th of a second would change a decision. A fast player could do lets say 9m in a second so if you are getting down to a few cm for offside you have to be accurate to about 1/450th of a second when it comes to picking the precise moment the ball leaves the players foot.
You basically need super high speed, high quality cameras that can capture a good angle of the offside to be sure you are being accurate.

The clear and obvious crap is laughable. I’ve seen loads of penalties given by var that are not clear and obvious.
I take it the clear and obvious doesn’t apply to offsides?

Offsides are considered clear cut. There is no discussion about was there contact, how much contact, was there simulation etc.
