It’s all over for Sheffield United, James is coming on. Gonna finish 5-2
Not often you see Ole on the touchline let alone arguing with the opposing manager
Its been like this with manager after manager. There is a spell where we are just getting over the line by the skin of our teeth and then something changes and suddenly we aren't. We go from winning most games and certain fans saying "look, we are winning lots, how can you be unhappy" to losing and drawing most games and those same fans wondering how our form changed so dramatically.
All it would take is an injury to Fernandes or Rashford or one of them to have a bad patch and we would plummet down the league.
This is why performances like yesterday matter. We scraped past a team with a single point in 13 games because we pulled a few moments of magic out of the bag. Overall we were a bit crap again. Ole is still just hanging onto his job because he has a great set of attackers at his disposal. Eventually that won't be enough to cover his managerial inadequacies.
It is absolutely mental that Utd could be 2nd if they win their game in hand. You've become the spawniest team of all time in the last 18 months, winning games despite generally playing rubbish through individual moments and incredible fortune with decisions. You'd think at some point this luck would run out but 18 months in and other than coming unstuck in Europe (this and last season) it's still going.
You speak as though your team have never had patches of playing average but your superstars being the difference. Look at Salahs record, for example. Look at Agueros record for City and how they struggle without him.
The fact is that we don’t have any genuine world class players (bar Bruno) so it’s no surprise we play the way we do, especially given the recent history of the club.
It’s almost as though Pool fans have forgotten what they were like pre VVD as well.
