Those sort of challenges on the keeper always go unpunished, shoulder on the keeper while he is in the air. Its dangerous play no matter how you look at it.

The thing is, not only is he bang average, but he's also totally thrown the balance of Arsenal's team off. Two of their best players are Laca and Auba, and playing Pepe means that one of them has to play wide (or they play 4-4-2 with Saka on the other wing, but then their midfield is seriously weak). It was a complete nonsense signing.
