Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 3rd October 2022]

Just watched match of the day. How on earth hasn't Thiago seen red. What's the actual point of var.
Thiago Silva*

I watched it and thought it was a red. Im assuming they think theres a covering defender but there isnt one that stops him getting the shot off. It was a red card

Lol no bud not your imagination, I’ve kinda just stopped using ocuk forums in general. Have had a lot going on with work and family life.
Me and the wife just finalising plans to finally get out of the UK, hopefully by end of the year fingers crossed.

How you doing tho?? Hope all is well with you and your well being?? At least we have something to cheer about, Arsenal finally flexing their muscles . Really hope we go all the way this season, the signings this summer have been immense for us especially Saliba.
Hope you are well. Where are you moving to?

I thought it would be worse. Let's be honest, the scoreline/stats clearly show we're nowhere near the level of City nor any 'top' team. But we have some sort of base(albeit ageing) and a change in management that hopefully sets us up for progrssion.

Needless to say, after spending a billion in a decade we still need to spend more if we want to compete at the highest levels. Gross incompetence in the market has brought us here.

Exactly City have spent the money but have just spent it extremely well. I cannot think of a single bad buy apart from maybe Grealish.

As for us.

Pogba 90 million, Lukaku £75 million, Maguire 80 million, Di Maria £60 million. That's a third of a billion wasted straight away.

Problem also is the tide has turned. Players will want to go to City first instead of us which is just going to make it harder. Haaland going to city has just proved that.

lol @ 8 games. I watched a video on you tube yesterday of him scoring 9 goals for Norway against Honduras. Crazy.
As a Man Utd fan, I am looking forward to our next match, one at a time. ETH can't turn the team around in a handful of games, yesterday was a huge blip for us against the best team in the league. It is what it is. It also hurts me to say I am actually looking forward to Citys games too, just to see what this Haaland kid can do.

Nah, don't think we can get sick of him scoring goal after goal. I hate City, I love Haaland, a crazy machine of a player. Did we get sick of seeing Maradonna, Maldini, Van Basten, Zidane, Messi, Ronaldo (both) etc, all playing a godly level of football. Yeah unfortunately many of us will see him destroy our own teams but you just have to admire him.
I can see him getting 50 goals this season, in the Prem. Gods knows how many more in other competitions, if he is injury free of course.

If we're just watching City win the league comfortably then yeah will get a bit dull. (I suppose for you that is better than the alternative in recent years)

I guess watching City dominate will get a bit boring but they still can not win it even if Haaland scores all the time and breaks every record. Heres to hoping.

If we're talking premier league, it's hard to see how City wouldn't be winning it if he continues to score all the time and break records. They would have to concede a silly amount of goals considering all of the other players who regularly get on the score sheet. They aren't the Slippy G - Suarez Liverpool side that conceded for fun.

Yes, they shipped 3 yesterday but Pep subbed on a few youngsters and they had Akanji and Ake at CB.

Arsenal are going to implode at some point.

I expect Liverpool to come good after the World Cup due to the fact a lot of our key players won't be going to the WC so it'll give Klopp and the coaches time to sort us the **** out.

Could also try starting the player we signed in Jan too... or least give him some game time

Nunez should be starting all games since he is fit, try build his form up that way.

The amount of game time Klopp gave him yesterday was a joke
