Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [22nd - 24th October 2021]

They’re going to need to seriously consider dropping the league to 18 teams to avoid this type of the thing happening.

Utter waste of time them getting promoted.

Perhaps we could start by kicking out whatever team you support?

When your owners are worth the sum total 2 x the euromillions jackpot, I think we'll run into issues. We've effectively got 2 sets of supporters: 'happy clappers' and 'optimists'. Happy clappers being those happy with the current board and wherever that takes us as 'little old Norwich', the other would like to see change from the top down. Our club is available for purchase, but that's only to the right person(s) who have the clubs/fans/ stability interests at heart.

That aside we've replaced players with experience of uk football with foreign imports and then not playing those players or not playing them to their best abilities, no structure to the current play duer to results and persisting with players who are frankly not good enough

Is it just me or is the behaviour on Sky Sports a little rancid with Carragher and Souness ? Bullying masked as 'Banter'.

Gary Neville could barely look up when he was trying to talk. It's a bit disrespectful and shameful.

Doesn't matter if Gary Neville "gives as good as he gets"...

What does it say to younger people when you watch two hyena's belittle someone by just laughing and just running over their points.

It's poor behaviour.
Whether it sets a bad example to viewers, it's hardly anything new. I mentioned a few weeks back that the whole Neville/Carragher double act has become boring - it's now 10% discussing football and 90% banter or laughing at the other.

As a side point, I think it's not time for Neville to stop being involved in Utd games. When he started you could see he was consciously trying to be unbiased when discussing Utd but he gave up on that a good few years ago and with Ole in charge he's become even worse. The man cannot bring himself to be objective when talking about Utd or Ole and this is why you get scenes like today, where he's tying himself in knots trying to find a reason for Utd's performances without mentioning Ole and people just laughing at him.

I appreciate it's nothing knew, first time in a while I've been watched the build up to some games and I just sat there thinking, kids will see this and think's that's how you have a debate...

And agree on Neville, hes given up the ghost of unbiased punditry. It's a shame, I thought he was going to be like the Martin Brindle of Football, just generally pleasant and insightful.

I really wish i didnt find out what the context of that paddy power tweet was.

Yes, a bit worrying isn't it.

Big game this afternoon but aside from a draw it's a bit of a win-win all round (our demise would continue under Ole if we win and it buys him more time).

I like them, but I agree he's too reserved when criticising managers, especially Utd ones. Yes the players are also to blame, but the buck stops with the manager, they have to motivate and set the team up. He knows Ole is the issue, reading between the lines, but won't say it.

Neville's a little biased when it comes to United, and I don't think that should be held against him, but he's as unbiased as they come compared to Micah 'club ambassador' Richards.

Micah seems like a lovely guy but he shouldn't be anywhere near a discussion on City. Neville has always been massively loathe to criticise managers since he was one and realised how hard a job it is. Not sure why.

Its a hard job but you get paid ridiculous money at the top level and because you are at the top level you have to be the best. Its such a strange job. Nowhere else would you think that someone good at doing something would be fantastic at managing, coaching and training someone else at the sharp end of an industry.

I'm sure there are thousands of people sitting at home every weekend watching football who are very tactically astute and know what is going wrong and what needs to change with players/formations and tactics. Being able to go in and fix those issues is a completely different kettle of fish though. Thats what the top managers do. Being a good footballer doesn't make you good at that.

You know what you're getting with Richards though. He's there to be City's representative in the same way Sky bring in certain players whenever x are playing. He doesn't hide the fact he's pro City where as Neville is sold as this impartial, balanced pundit and he is usually but not when it involves Utd.

Liverpool fans talking about biased pundits, whatever next

I think skys lineup is quite good with the exception of Mr cliche himself Jamie redknapp

People talking about Neville and Carragher should watch the overlap episode with them if you haven’t already.
