Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [25th - 27th April 2023]

Far better second half from Newcastle. Spurs result good for us too. Villa game aside, Howe can seem to do no wrong with his team selections - despite how dubious some of us think they may be. I actually thought this would be the toughest game of Newcastle's run in, followed by the Spurs game. Scored 10 goals . Can't see any reason this side can't win all of the remaining games now.

Arsenal game not tough?

Who have United beaten away in the top 6 or 7 this year? No one? I really don't think United's recovery is anything like what some assume. They still have absolute miles to go.

Agreed but we have beaten everyone at home bar Newcastle who we beat in the cup anyway. Players are just done this season. Having so many injuries as well it has just gotten too much. It is a common theme where we just dominate games in the first half then come completely unstuck as fatigue kicks in. Sevilla, Liverpool and now Spurs to name a few. We also struggled to get over the line with Brighton. Make no mistake Spurs we absolute dire last night. We gave the game away to them. Not that they played well.

There are a lot of players that need to go. The ones ETH have brought in have been good but we still need a few more signings to push on. We will limp across the line into 4th due to the early season we had. Our second half form has been average at best.

A lot of this hinges on who buys however. If the Glazers stay I don't think we will get what we need.

Our away form is poor; one win from 10 vs the top 12 in the league so far.

Ultimately I think there have been plenty of positive signs from ETH, but there have also been quite a lot of negatives. A lot of these could be down to the squad simply not being good enough, and we have had a lot of games too compared to others.

My main concern is what's going on with the ownership situation, as that will set the tone. If the Glazers stay, things get toxic, they might not back him properly - then I don't think next season will be very good...

This 100%. We can go absolute mad in the summer if the Qatari's come in. If the Glazers stay we might get a Striker and that is it. If you want to compete with City you need two teams.
