Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [28th - 30th Dec 2020]

I don't disagree with the general point, but seeing the same post in every match day thread is quite nauseating. Particularly when a player has just got on the pitch, and hasn't done the thing you're complaining about for weeks.
Grealish is another who boils my blood, he's same as Beckham used to be, gets a touch and launches himself into the air with a double pike to make sure he gets the decision, yet other players get caught more heavily and because they don't perform oscar worthy dives don't get the freekick, no wonder Grealish is the most 'fouled' player when he gets ones that are even fouls.

Strange that handball decision they've just shown, not sure how VAR misses that as usually VAR sees things that we cannot see after 10 or so replays

So Grealish kicks out at Christianson and nothing given, VAR hasn't even looked at that clear and obvious error from the ref (he waved on as if he was going to give a freekick to Grealish).

No Thanks

Kicks out? You really can't see past your hatred for him.

Not sure how that goal stands, the move starts with a Villa handball and there's a Grealish foul meaning Chelsea are a defender light.

Nope hate cheats and we have more and more English ones playing yet all anyone ever says it's a foreign thing ruining our game.

You really can't hide your hatred can you :D

I assume they can’t be sure who else might have caught it and isn’t testing positive yet. After isolating everyone and retesting in a few days they should know how far it’s spread.
Yeah they're not going to risk it spreading throughout the league as with the Euros at the end of the season it's got to finish on time.

I wonder what the number of positive tests is the threshold for a cancelled game.

Not sure what's funniest about the Villa goal, the blatant hypocrisy of Villa scoring with an opponent down injured, or Frank 'The Code' Lampard being on the receiving end of it

As it wasn't a head injury the ref isn't required to blow up and you shouldn't just play the ball out if an opponent is down as so many play act, but not sure what you mean by Frank 'The Code' Lampard, has he done something previously that I've missed?

I don't blame Villa for not putting the ball out why should they, I blame the ref as I believe Grealish fouled Christenson but they 100% shouldn't be playing the ball out unless it was clear he was in some real problems which he wasn't.

In that case cancel the season. We (lfc) had a number of cases a few weeks back including Thaigo, Salah and Mane. Was anything postponed? No.

If only 5 players have tested positive why has this been postponed?

Were the positive tests returned too near to kick-off? I'm completely guessing, but if people test positive a few days before, guess they have time to isolate everyone and test those again to ensure everyone else is still negative? Maybe there wasn't enough time here?

I guess the difference here is that we never looked as though we were going to put it out like in the Leeds game. Personally I'm on the side of play to the whistle and think the whole Leeds - Villa debacle was embarrassing, especially given it was a nothing game.

They had 4 positive tests in the previous round of testing and then additional positives in the latest round of testing.

The latest round must have returned enough positives for them to consider it an outbreak at the club and therefore postpone the match like the Newcastle one.

Everton have also asked for clarification on why the match was postponed:

Whilst Everton will always have public safety uppermost, we will be requesting full disclosure of all the information that Manchester City provided to the Premier League so the Club can be clear on why this decision was taken.
