I think City get stronger as the season goes on partly because they basically have a second first XI and I think it could be even worse with the 5 subs.
Its the start of the season and most clubs have most of their players available, reasonably fresh and the optimism is high. Give it 3 months and teams will start to fatigue a little, settle into their place in the league and pick up injuries to key players. City have cover of a high quality almost everywhere and will benefit from that more as the season progresses.
Still can't see past them for the title but I think the top 4 battle could be really interesting this year.

I do not think you will finish above us. I said you should do considering you have had 3 years with Arteta. Arteta is just not at the level required to manage a top team. What happened yesterday was exactly the same that happened with Spurs last season when you were going for top 4.
You have to remember that Haaland will also basically get Christmas off to rest as well. Our entire first eleven will be going.
Possible injuries yeah, but Haaland isn't even at the world cup, they've already accumulated more points then 3 of their previous title wins and they have double the squad strength than most other teams, not to mention the buying power in January. Undefeated so far and got a draw when they should have lost. My opinion ofc but I think they'll storm the league, everyone else looks mediocre.

Betfair currently have City at about 1.5:1 and Liverpool at 9:1 for the title.

In the past 5 seasons outside of Liverpool and man city only one team has got more than 80 points.

You may well be right - losing to L'pool in community shield and draws with Villa/Newcastle make me less confident than you. Anyhow you have picked the wrong Manchester prem winners, lol.
I'm sure once Varane and Martinez pick up and injury and you rely on Maguire again, the form won't continue haha

Yeah I mean we need to.keep.this 11 fir for the EPL and that means playing through b team and getting fitness up in the europa.
So in this case I would start casemiro, Antony, elanga, cr7, Maguire, lindleoff, bissaka, luke Shaw, etc vs Soceidad and give the main 11 as much of a break as possible until next weekend.
Ideally if we had kept Henderson we could have used him as our cup keeper for all other competitions.

We have Dubravka which could allow ETH to implement playing out from the back which De Gea is incapable of doing. This is why I think Europa was a blessing for our incoming manager because if we were in champions league we would be forced to field a strong team every game whereas now he can play fringe players to up the competition and try new things.

I don't know. Have you seen De Gea? He missed the only penalty in the Europa League final after 21 others had already scored. His distribution is pretty poor but is no denying he is an absolute beast of a shot stopper.
VDS was bought from Fulham for peanuts at a similar age and turned out to be one of the best keepers we have ever had.

Sure he's not great at distribution but plenty of outfield players who are good with the ball at feet have missed penalties...
