Ask yourself why Wrighty and Cates aren't around.. controversy and outrage generate far more clicks and revenue then a well balanced discussion. The beeb have been dumbing down it's football related content for ages. It's the same as sky, Roy Keane for example is a pantomime villain on sky and totally different to how he is when he's on ITV.

I had a misfortune to listen to the Talk***** show the evening on the way back from the villereal game, that Jason Cundy (I swear his parents named wrong) is next level clownage.

Indeed, 606 used to be a decent show, with actual football chat and the callers being the core, but it's just trash talk and silly features now. Crap like that ought to be turned into a podcast rather than having a slot on 5 Live, as the rest of their football coverage is top notch in my opinion.

Sutton is dreadful. He came across as having no personality at all when he started punditry, so to try to spice himself up a bit he turned into making controversial or dodgy claims or opinions just for the sake of it.
 
Same as TV football shows. You used get decent football shows like Goals on Sunday and the rather excellent Sunday supplement show with the four journos. Now it’s all dumbed down crap like MOTDx and Saturday Social. Football has been invaded by social media, hosts who get the job because they’ve got a YouTube channel, guests who know nothing about football but are just cooler and the laughable attempt to use FIFA stats when discussing players.

That Doc Savage is a load of nonsense aswell.

Is there any alternatives though? I don’t think there is.
