Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [3rd - 8th February 2023]

His pressing, work rate, discipline. He was part of the best front three in the league for years but yeah, probably not missed ;)
All of which were non existent in the past 2 years lol. Mane leaving has somehow stopped our defenders from knowing how to defend and also our midfield from knowing how +to press, cover space and actually run.

i dont blame you for the lazy statement btw, its just something Id expect from 'pundits' like Merson or the Saturday soccer crew. Its trite, boring and frankly ******.

Considering you are suggesting an overly simplistic view on my part, did it not occur to you that a few word statement on Liverpool missing a player they sold probably wasn't a comprehensive analysis on Liverpools issues this season. Liverpool have loads of issues this year. Losing Mane is one of them.

Liverpool came within a whisker of winning the quadruple last season and you are suggesting that Mane wasn't playing well. I mean, come now.

AwB is just a lazy footballer. He is happy to chase back and tackle but when it comes to the boring work of sticking to his man, tracking runs and generally putting in the graft to avoid dangerous situations occurring he is consistently off the pace.

He's going to hook Keita at half time isnt he and we are going to have Jordan 'cant run, cant tackle, cant pass, cant shoot' Henderson strutting around barking orders... cant wait.

Losing Mane would probably amount to about 1% of our current season problems, he was **** 1st half of the season and only found a bit of form when he was moved centrally. He was the worst of our forward options last year. Losing Jota this season has been a far bigger blow.

I disagree.

Both him and Fred are incredibly limited footballers. We've been pretty poor today. Antony and Rashford have been very wasteful and Weghorst just looks a bit awkward. I'm not happy at all with that performance. I hope EtH tears thema new one at halftime.

The first goal probably sums up our season. A nothing attack leads to them in behind us and then a massive deflection goes in off the post. Thankfully we're going to win the CL to save our season or I may just go into hibernation until August.

Maybe you should resign Tevez and Rooney. They were good too.

Your view of Mane is based on 2020 or before.

Last season I bloody would have done. I have watched quite a lot of Liverpool over the past 3 or 4 years and even last year he was very important to Liverpool.

Whatever Mane did or didnt bring is largely irrelevant. We didnt lose Mane per se, he wanted to go, if we are to believe what he said he wanted a new challenge.

All we need is nice big new owners, look at the wonders thats done for Newcastle. :)

I'm not sure you paid a huge amount of attention in the past 2 years then. He was really really bad in in 20/21 and only better than average in the last few months of last season, where he played as a centre forward because he couldn't run anymore and because Diaz took his spot in the side.

Mane was an amazing player for us but he was well past his best and in Diaz we more than replaced him. And preempting the Diaz is injured though reply, so is Mane.
