Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [4th - 6th March 2023]

He is a bit of a tool, like many sporting folk. Like Hamilton with his ridiculous outfits and constant virtue signalling, like various footballers with their gambling, infidelity, lack of intelligence, physical and sexual assaults. Having said that, compared to what some sportsmen do, spitting at someone is pretty trivial.

Doesnt stop him being a tool though, but most of the pundits are doofus anyway, like Neville saying Utd would win the league again before Liverpool do, only for Liverpool to promptly win the league, or like him saying that he would rather have Pochettino as manager than Erik Ten Hag...that aged well :) , or like Micah Richards saying that he cant see any reason why the Champions League final shouldnt be held in America (possibly one of the daftest things I've heard a pundit say recently).

Tools many of them are, was still funny though :D

Saying you’re going to win the league and spitting in the direction of a young girl is quite a bit different.

But the point is it’s to be expected from him such low level attempts at trolling.

I've learnt after many years of supporting a club that gets hidings off most of its rivals to go quiet when these drubbings happen; you're getting reeled in constantly. Just come back after Man U win their next game. The forum has never been busy with Man U/Newcastle fans this season, sing when your winning an all that.

And of all of those things that sportsmen do, the physical and sexual assaults, the gambling, the wokeisms, the infidelitys, you picked the saying youre going to win the league one as the comparator. You are right, spitting as someone goading you is different to saying you are going to win the league BUT spitting at someone IS trivial compared to all the other things I listed above, so my point "that compared to what some sportsmen do it was trivial" still stands. I need to write my thoughts better because people keeping missing the points.

I’m not even that wound up by it i’m emotionally detached enough to understand these things can happen and as I’ve said a quick look at the League table quickly grounds me back to reality. Despite a 7-0 drubbing we are still having a better season so it’s obvious for the need to gain as much as possible from it.

He’s no longer a sportsman he should know better but he let his emotions get the better of him as he regularly does. He’s still a tool though :D

Yep, every team gets a right drubbing at some point, it happens. It will happen again to someone next season too. As a fan you just accept it and move on, memes will be created, the result will be brought up time and again during banter but thats all, it only becomes a problem for someone once they take it all too seriously. End of the day, its just a football score in a game of a couple dozen people whacking a leather sphere around a grassy field, nothing more important than that.

He is a tool, like I say, but if he has to show how much of a tool he is better that its by spitting one time at someone than biting them or sexually assaulting someone. Both things which multiple "sportsmen" have been known to do. On the tool scale, Carragher is a blunt stanley knife, whereas some other sportsmen are chainsaws for what they've done :D

Yep, poor Arsenal had about 3 years of trolling of the 8-2 result, Man U fans can't be moaning after 3 days...

You have to come to terms with the abuse and constant reminders as it won't stop :p

It feels like every time Southampton play a commentator finds a reason to mention 9-0... a player is wearing a number 9 shirt, they saw the number 9 bus on the way to the stadium, they can see 9 pigeons sat on the railing etc. etc.

Lol seriously a Liverpool fan can never get under my skin. I was born into an era where we dominated English football, In my lifetime I’ve seen Liverpool live completely in the shadow of United to such a point we’ve won 13 league titles in the space they’ve won one. I’ve seen them
lift the Champions league twice as have we.

This season I’ve seen a monumental drop off a cliff compared to the dizzy heights they have reached over the last few years. Other than a 7-0 defeat that was an annoyance at the time what could a Liverpool fan have to shout about. If you were an Arsenal fan then fair enough by merit you can say what you want but Liverpool c’mon don’t embarrass yourselves.

Some psychologists might say that this bit....
