Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [5th - 10th March 2021]

I'm getting quite disillusioned by our season. It's so predictable each game, miss some early chances then concede to stupid mistakes. We have conceded the joint most penalties this season and let in 14 goals from corners, that's 24 goals together. Really quite terrible defensively. All very well for entertainment purposes but ultimately we are starting to be a joke for how weak we are.

Nearly conceded 15th set piece goal.

The way we're playing has still put us in better stead than the other two newly promoted sides, yeah it's hard to watch at times as a fan, keep the faith! The only aim this season is staying up.
 
Oh I know, it's just the way we concede its so disappointing. We've been good this half, just a shame the game is already over.

I don't know why you are? For a team to come up from the championship and play decent football whilst still getting top half is great. Ignore teams like Sheffield United who have "decent" seasons. It's all turgid horrible defend park the bus stuff. What you have with Bielsa is special. He just needs the players to make it work for him.

I love the way we play in the sense of we actually give it a go and create chances, I much prefer that than the standard park the bus tactics. It's frustrating sometimes but it's got us this far with a team we both know are generally mid table Championship level (with a few exemptions).

Our defensive record doesn't look great but we've had an absolute nightmare with injuries to our CBs, fingers crossed we'll be more fortunate next season.

We go again...

Well the cynic in me still thinks we're in a relegation fight, we have Chelsea next and I don't see us getting thing out of that, we can easily be dragged in. In fact the majority of our remaining games are with the big boys so I won't sleep easy until we have min 40 points!

Don't get me wrong, I love how we play but I just can't get my head around why we can't do the basics. I don't want to change anything other than concentrate on how we defend/attack a set piece, its school boy stuff.

I got destoryed on Twitter for saying the same thing lol. However, I'm cautiously optimistic as there's still a bunch of teams between us and Fulham.

Gulp. City, Liverpool and Man U, Brighton and Spurs. I think I fear the Brighton game the most :(

The pace Leeds play at you would expect a natural drop off towards the end of the season as well. I still think you'll take a couple of wins from the sides above you, relegation looks very unlikely but I guess as a Leeds fan you'll always have that concern after the mighty collapse.
