Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [5th - 6th November 2022]

Exactly, how has that even been reviewed, so blatant! Dirty little **** should have been punished!
The FA should be looking into it but they wont. It's one thing being late to a challenge but he's literally elbowed him twice.

I dont know if its small man syndrome or what but he's a dirty little ****.

Consistency across refereeing is shocking, like for like challenge of cancello/Trent. Ones a red card and a penalty, the other is nothing. Officiating is pure garbage.

They weren't the same challenges though and even if they deemed the Trent one a foul, it wouldn't be a red card because it wasn't denying a goalscoring opportunity

You're never going to get consistent decisions because everybody will interpret things different. Using the Trent situation as an example - defenders lean or nudge forwards all the time but at what point does that lean or nudge change from good defending to a foul? You could ask 10 people and you'll get 10 different answers. This is why I've always said that VAR for subjective decisions makes no sense because we're getting all the same inconsistencies as before however we're spoiling the game in the meantime. Just allow officials to get on with it and accept that we're not going to get perfectly correct or consistent decisions.

Fwiw and before somebody says I'm claiming otherwise, I do think what Trent did was a foul however it's the type of foul that's very rarely given due to the above.
