I never have and never will understand the complaints about penalties like the one we got today. The defender kicks/trips (whatever you want to call it) Szoboszlai, how is it not a foul? Whether Szoboszlai stays on his feet, does a triple somersault or ends up with a broken ankle, it does not change the action of the defender and it is that, not the reaction of the forward, that determines whether something is a foul.
^^ It probably says more about the officiating that players have to resort to essentially diving to get a penalty they should get anyway. It’s the trademark Mo Salah special where he’s way too quick for the defender but knows not to rely on the refs to give it.
Just reflecting on today. We have spent some serious money and seem to be going backwards.
Quite worrying really. We'll no doubt rally and put some good results together, but a top 4 battle is the best we'll do.

I doubt Antony will ever look an £80m player, there are some good elements to his game but he looks incredibly limited.

Officials will almost never give fouls when a player stays on his feet so attackers are mad not to go down when they're tripped/kicked/pulled, even if they can stay on their feet. It will never change either. Officials don't want to make big decisions unless they have to, it's just human nature and if a player stays on their feet that's all the excuse they need not to award a penalty.
Part of me wants to feel disappointed we didn't get anything yesterday, we had 1 great chance and right now I thought was a great time to play them. Early in the season city are usually cold and KDB is out.
However we got outplayed for the majority of the game and I didn't see us getting anything out of the game pre kick off, we have progressed but not at their level yet.

We have 3 points already and do I need to point this out? No other team has a start of the season like us. Not even close.

Never rated Mount to be honest. Always got frustrated with Southgates obsession with picking him for England.

My friend (Evertonian hates him) whenever he plays he England, always making a joke about "Where is Mount?" as he seems to somehow blend in and disappear...I thought Mount was quite good when he first burst onto the scene during Lampard's 1st stint as Chelsea manager but since then he hasn't hit the same form.

Firstly your manager has to get his head out of the clouds. Saying in a post match interview that Utd dominated the game in and out of possession is straight up delusional. It’s as if he doesn’t want to accept the reality of the situation
