Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [20th - 25th May 2023]

Normally I'd say the Mudueke one was a dive, but it was Casemiro so it should be a pen and red card probably.

I don't think it was a dive, I think there was contact but he initiated it unintentionally and unsurprisingly assumed it was Casemiro that initiated it. One of those situations where it wasn't a dive but it wasn't a penalty

Chelsea have about 40 players, first thing Poch needs to do is get shot of most of them. Who the hell is the second Fofana? Are Chelsea signing families now?

He did and I understand that but it's just an absolutely nothing touch in terms of resistance that would have stopped Fernandez's continuing on.

I know what you are saying but it would have staggered his run and if he then fluffs the chance as a result he would get nothing. Mane loved to stay on his feet when he shouldn't and often suffered for it. Theres no such thing as "play advantage" in the box.

I think they have a reasonably good set of players, just need a few experienced additions and a good manager. Will be interesting.
Just briefly looking at them id make a case that they need lb, 2 cbs, gk, striker at a minimum but its Chelsea so I have no doubt they'll sign Neymar on a 14 year deal.

Yeah I understand that bud, on this subject my brain comes with a bit of utopian football view where players were honest and refs didn't have to try to work in the middle ground. Which I realise is completely unrealistic and my own bug bear!

They're all on 10 year deals and £150k+ per week. The only ones they'll find buyers for are the ones they'd want to keep.

I know things can change quickly in football but I think it could take Chelsea a couple of years to untangle the mess they've got themselves into. I don't wish to defend Lampard or Potter before him but for all the money they've spent, there's very little there to show for it. At best they've got a collection of promising players but very few look battle ready.
