Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [20th - 25th May 2023]

So assuming Newcastle and Utd don't lose their final two games that's the CL spots done. Brighton need 3 points from their final 3 games to secure the last Europa League spot, with Villa, Spurs and Brentford scrapping it out for the Conference League. With West Ham having a European final to play and Bournemouth already on the beach, it's really not looking good for Leeds and Leicester's chances of staying up. Leeds might need two wins and that might not even be enough for Leicester.

Come on football!!!

A small part of me hopes we lose both and you miss out on goal difference. Then again you are playing Southampton.

I can understand why we were reportedly demanding £20m for Awoniyi before he eventually left us. He's single-handedly going to keep Forest up.

I still fancy Everton to go. I think they needed a win today. Both Leeds and Leicester play West Ham don't they? I expect that to be an easier game for both to take 3 points due to the upcoming final and being safe from relegation. Then Leeds have Spurs which is a coin toss. Surely I'm not going to be robbed for a 2nd season on the trot to see the end and financial ruin for Everton. Don't make me wait until they are docked points.

Leeds have to win that game tomorrow, nothing for West Ham to play for and they won't want any injuries for the Europa Conference final.

They do. For some reason I thought it was Forest, not Leicester that had them on the last day. Everton are beating Bournemouth though. You only had to look at the Bouremouth line-up today to see that they've packed it in for the season.

Leicester are probably done given the away game to Newcastle but Leeds are probably needing 2 wins to stay up.

You think if Everton don't get an early goal then the crowd will work against them and the pressure builds? I mean if it doesn't happen this year it will be next year, but my patience isn't that great!

No. Goodison can be Everton's biggest enemy at times but not in the final game of the season when they need a result. Look back to last season vs Palace - 2 goals down after 30 mins and it was Goodison that turned that game around. Had it been midway through the season then the crowd would have turned but with survival in the balance the fans will stay onside.

Had Everton had a live opponent then maybe even Goodison wouldn't have saved them but Bournemouth will be giving anybody and everybody a run-out. It'll probably be the same for Leeds vs Spurs too but the difference is Spurs have a few better individuals that might beat Leeds without playing well. If Leeds get a result tomorrow then it'll be an exciting last day though.

Yeah all true, Everton only looked a threat this year though for scoring more than one goal when DCL was back in the side and it appears he's died again. 2 more years they have to carry that 120k per week. That poor lads done.

We are relegated already, have been for a while.

The interview from Barnes below is just appalling.
