Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [23rd - 25th November 2024]

The beginning was just bants due to the early goal. I have had my doubts with Amorim since day 1. ETH battered him with Ajax which is from a worse league. Lots of people have Charisma but also lots of people with Charisma are grifters.

I would have at least expected something from the players today. Even Ole battered Cardiff 5-1 in his first game which was a similar situation to today being away from home.

And Amorim beat city? And maybe the group of players are not GOOD ENOUGH which he did not sign these are ten hags signings and he was doing great wasn't he ?

Amorim has had like 5 days and that's with players on international break. He'll be learning what he is dealing with on match days the positive is I liked the subs he made

5 teams have beat City in consecutive matches. I wouldn't read a lot into that.

And these are mostly ten hags players £600 million spent ? and he was doing great wasn't he ? You can't just judge Amorim when he has had like 5 days and when it was international week and none of these players he has seen on match day until today

Fascinatingly honest interview with Amorim. Talking details of movements and that him and his staff need to work out what the players can do. And also that the players just will be confused this early with the direction.

Amorim not happy in that interview. He basically said - less talking to the media, more coaching the players, they desperately need it.
Think some of it needs to be scrapped , not sure what's compulsory

More and more of everything is ridiculous, less is more

Going to be more next season isn't there? Haven't the clubs got to choose 1 of 3 things each week to do?

I mean does anyone care what someone has to say at HT etc. Bet most the viewers are making a Brew.

has there been a game when Anthony has played and not given 100%? I know hes not played much but I always think he gives it his all. I could be wrong of course. I know hes not the best player by far, but feel he could offer a little more than some of the players tonight. Bit like Fred.

So basically the bare minimum expected as a professional footballer!!! Crazy he’s getting credit for that, should be an absolute given as soon as you walk on the park!

Not much, so will be quick to work out. We’ve seen these players for a few season now, we know what they can do!

Yeah don't like the direction things are going.

Saw a video of some ex arsenal head, he reckons EPL should have 18 teams, mid season break and FFP needs recreating. Also he thought multi team owners is an issue. Don't know too much about the latter but definitely some grey areas.

Things are too complicated now

Just watched the post match conference. Amorim is impressive with his answers. paraphrasing here, he said he had to start with his system as it will be better next year (taking risks whilst doing so, so will win and lose until players settled) but if he stayed with what the players know and bring in his system over time, he will be in the same situation this time next year. After only a 2 sessions players showed they knew what to do but over thought a lot of times.

Yep - sensible and determined.
He singled out Mazraoui and Amad which I'm pleased about. That right hand side looked credible and we know that both those players can probably play in the more advanced roles. Mainoo and Ugarte surely will be his 2 midfielders once they are fit and rested. I'd still sell Shaw and Rashford while they have any value at all. Neither of those players look like they will deliver what is required in an Amorim side.
