What's happening at City reminds me a lot of what happened to Liverpool in 22/23. Father time looks to have caught up with a few important players. Rodri's injury obviously makes things worse but when you look at City's midfield options, they look old now and lack legs. For years they've relied on KDB, Gundogan & Bernardo alongside Rodri but KDB's now 33 and can't stay fit, Gundo is 34 and while only 30, Bernardo has played 370 games in 7 years. Throw in Walker & Stones at the back and that's a lot of players that have been pivotal to City's success now the wrong side of 30, struggling physically and they have no obvious replacement for.
Obviously KDB will remain fit for the rest of the season and Haaland will score 30 in the next 20 games now but regardless of how City end the season, they've got a fair bit of surgery to do on their midfield and probably need at least 1 at the back too.
