Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [23rd - 25th November 2024]

Pretty clear it was outside, Saints player never reached the box until he fell in it. Perfect angle was when it showed Robbo wasn't even in the area, but we only saw that once.

Thats not outside. Thats on the line where the contact was actually made. Both their feet might have been outside but the actual point of contact looked on the line/in.

I think the argument was that there was no reason for VAR to overturn the on field decision from the ref.
Bar the one angle that showed none of the Saints player was inside or on the line, though again only got showed once for some reason. His foot only touches the line after Robbo made contact.

See above pic, clearly outside, Robbo is hardly in the box, just his foot touching

It looked like Robertson's boot was just outside the line and if that's where the contact was (rather than higher up) then I think it wasn't a penalty. Wasn't expecting an overturn though.

Really poor from Liverpool to allow Southampton back into this though. Bit of a braindead day so far all round.

Its either a penalty or it isnt...this isnt a case of "clear and obvious". Is it in the box? No.

Not really at the races today, Salah virtually nonexistent, Nunez being Nunez, Jones not having much of an impact, despite the goal Szobozlai not offering much, whole defence is off the boil too. Only player out there at the moment that I feel is doing anything of note is Gakpo.

Why bother getting wound up by a var decision like this, it's ran by (some druggy) clowns. They've got far easier decisions 'wrong'

Tragic half of football, the tempo's way too slow again and we've barely threatened them when we've had the ball. Only our press, when they've had the ball, has created chances for us.

Expect a couple of changes and our usual speed up in play in the second half but the two yellows are a concern, ref will have Konate off in a heart beat if he goes near one of their players.

Gakpo summed up our 1st half, lots of huff and puff, zero end product
