Bar the one angle that showed none of the Saints player was inside or on the line, though again only got showed once for some reason. His foot only touches the line after Robbo made contact.I think the argument was that there was no reason for VAR to overturn the on field decision from the ref.
Its either a penalty or it isnt...this isnt a case of "clear and obvious". Is it in the box? No.It looked like Robertson's boot was just outside the line and if that's where the contact was (rather than higher up) then I think it wasn't a penalty. Wasn't expecting an overturn though.
Really poor from Liverpool to allow Southampton back into this though. Bit of a braindead day so far all round.
VAR do so why not?You can't use a **** quality still image as proof of anything. In the video replays it looked very much like the contact happened over/on the line. Ref gave penalty so unless they were sure it was before that, its a penalty.
I initially thought it was inside, but yeah everything since shows its 100% outside, not inside, not on the line...outsideGood process.
Gakpo summed up our 1st half, lots of huff and puff, zero end productNot really at the races today, Salah virtually nonexistent, Nunez being Nunez, Jones not having much of an impact, despite the goal Szobozlai not offering much, whole defence is off the boil too. Only player out there at the moment that I feel is doing anything of note is Gakpo.
