We really weren't. We were better against Wolves but we are still conceding far too many shots and teams are still getting into our third far too easily because ETH is playing this suicidal solo 6.

Yes but only looking like a team when Martinez plays is not a tenable position. I agree he is vital to the way ten Hag wants to play but he was injured a fair bit last year and ten Hag opted to by Mason Mount and Andre Onana instead of another ball playing CB. We are far too easy to play against and regardless of injuries that is at least partly tactical. Our bench maybe inst the strongest but the use of it is also questionable at times.
 
Thats being coming for an age that loss. United have looked like the worst team in pretty much all there last 5-6 wins. Said last week it looked more a run of luck rather then of form and it's caught them up today.

Villa excellent today. Little shakey in the second half but final third quality saw it out. Bailey is absolutely class. Player of the season for me.
 
I'd be amazed if ETH's Utd manager next season and I suspect Ratcliffe and co have already made that decision, it's just a case of when he goes and their preference being to wait until the summer if they can.

I also now think it looks unlikely he is there.
He has a slightly forlorn look about him. I'm not impressed by anything he has done this season other than bringing through Kobbie Mainoo and that has to be a concern. Of course the squad isn't good enough and the players are very inconsistent but he has to get more from Fernandes, Rashford or he has to drop them.

Drop them for who? Fernandes the only other option is Mount and he's been unavailable for most of the season. Rashford we don't have a batter option. Sancho is on holiday in Germany (and useless there too), Antony is worse in every way and the other options are Forson (who showed today he's not remotely ready) and Amad who I'd like to see get more chances but definitely not starting instead of Rashford (for one Garnacho has been far better on the right and we'd have to move him back to the left to accommodate Amad)

The problem is it isn't going to get any better in the summer either. The amount of money lost on extremely poor buys (Antony + Sancho is £160 million alone. We will get 30-40 million of that back tops) means we are going to be crippled by FFP this summer too. They have to be extremely coy and get some decent loans in to even stand a chance of doing anything next season.

Everyone laying into ETH is just laughable. What he is having to deal with is nothing like even Klopp had to deal with when he joined Liverpool.

I feel sorry for the presenter in this game. Rio and Keown take over the show and she stands there while they’re talking to each other and paying no attention to her. In the Edu interview just then, she started to ask him a question and Rio just blatantly interrupted her as if she didn’t exist.

Rio is definitely getting worse for it. Literally thinks he’s the presenter and not just a pundit.

Not nice to watch, he's arrogant as hell and really obnoxious.
 
Howe's rested burn and Livramento is playing, must be because he knows Burn will get ripped a new one against Saka.

Karius in goal too, Arsenal should just shoot on sight.

27 goals in total in our last 6 games, expecting tonight's to be full of goals too!

So lets say Bruno is injured. (which he never is)
I'd play Casemiro, Amrabat and Mainoo. We'd be much more solid and both Mainoo and Casemiro can get forward. At the moment all we would lose is Bruno constantly surrendering possesion.

In the case of Rashford allowing for no Hojlund we could have played Garnacho, Amad and Antony. Allowing them to interchange. Marcus is terrible as a nine. He works even less than he does on the left and can't hold the ball up. Tbh McSauce would probably be better.

It's far from perfect but look at how Arsenal manage without a recognised no.9. +36 goals vs United who are back to zero!

My point is that ten Hag is doing the same things all the time and it doesn't work
