Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [25th - 27th October 2024]

Coming back to Man Utd... a quarter of the season has passed now and we're 14th.

14th.

Last season was equally terrible with the exception of the FA Cup final, but we're continuing to sink lower and lower...

When will the owners act? This is getting beyond a joke now.

Owners too busy trying to save £200 cutting the cleaners down to once a month.

Just back from the game. Thought we started a bit slowly but looked pretty dominant by the end of the half. Second half was poor though and so frustrating to be done by a simple ball over the top. Can't really argue with the result. I think the injuries definitely made us drop back in the second half and without Saka we didn't really have anyone keeping the ball in the final third. When you look at our finishing 11 you can see why our levels dropped off. Regarding the disallowed goal, no one heard the whistle. Didn't see the VDV foul but the fans closer certainly seemed to think it deserved a card.

Just finished the Newcastle game / latest episode of the Cole Palmer show this morning. Played alright, pretty well actually in some parts but same old, same old. We are so predictable, starting line up, inability to take chances, inability to break through midfield lines, relentlessly giving the ball away in the middle of the park and a triple substitution on 65 minutes. Seen it all before, last week actually and the week before. I think the only unscripted move was starting the ineffective Almiron ahead of the ineffective Murphy. Outcome the same though.

Yeah, it's a farce really. Given the penny pinching going on, I am worried INEOS don't want to pay him off and have effectively written the season off. They probably made that decision at the meeting a couple of weeks ago.

Ten Hag is doing an absolutely appalling job, and he's starting to sound more and more deranged when he speaks to the media as well. Like you, I can't stand him any more, he's arrogant and clueless. Embarrassing himself.

I think a lot of managers could get a handle on things, go back to the drawing board with the players. Look at what Solskjaer achieved and he wasn't particularly good compared to the top managers.

We should have been 2-3 nil up by half time. That game was all on the players not the manager.

Get rid of ETH by all means but nothing will change.

I was just thinking this after the Liverpool game. A massive difference is simply how well you can finish. You give Salah a good chance and he usually puts it away. There is only so much a manager can do when his players aren’t finishing good chances.

EtH has to go but our performances aren’t as bad as our results.

slight difference is that chelsea (although overspending) have bought some decent players, you lot.. not so much

Chelsea are doing well almost entirely because they bought Cole Palmer. Literally everything good yesterday as well as their goals all came from Palmer one way or another. He is carrying that team.

I just watched the United highlights and if Ten Hag had hair he would be pulling it out. We should have been out of sight in the first half and then that is an absolutely shockingly bad penalty decision. How on earth has VAR told him to go and look at that. It shouldn't have been given even if the ref himself gave it in the first place. VAR should have been overturning it if anything.
