Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [27th - 29th October 2023]

Never quite sure if rashford knows how to press. Hojlund just pressed and turned to look - rashford was walking away with his head down

Injuries. People seem to think it's fine to be terrible if you have a few players out.
We are missing our entire first choice defence, Casemiro, Antony. Rashford has gone back to being ****. How many team wouldnt struggle without any of their first choice defenders?

Most performances have been dog awful, moments of brilliance have savedd him, take performances against Wolves and Copenhagen for example.

I honestly don’t know what people expect from Man Utd?

They don’t really have any really class players.

It’s all potential. Bruno maybe. Casemiro/Verane are too old/injury prone now - hence Madrid cashing in.

We've looked pretty bad when they have been playing though, I don't think it's just that.

Every single player has regressed over the past few months. It's unacceptable and I am not interested in the excuses. :(

United lacks width, why doesn't he play Garnacho on the right? put Bruno back in the centre where he is best at. I know Garnacho is right footed and ETH likes a left footed player on that side but surely a winger playing on the wing is better solution.

Oh were a mess. I've just given up on this hope that the right manager will come along and magically we will be a good team. The whole place is rotten. Nothing ever changes for the better for very long. Its almost like as soon as they are not utter crap and there start to be some expectations they make a concerted effort to regress.

Even simple stuff isn't happening. Maguire is a fine example of the sort of player that embodies us. Not good enough. Under no pressure makes awful decisions and can't pick a pass. There is no urgency and teams don't have to do anything special to pull us to pieces. City's second goal was a prime example of that. It was a nice move which was never under any pressure. Not a single part of it required elite level execution because every player received the ball in space. Every player had time to pick their pass.

This is why I have watched probably the sum total of 90 minutes from us this season.

Rashford should NEVER have been given that contract. Rewarding mediocrity.

Don't go and say that on Redcafe. Apparently even though he was abject for ages, that purple patch proved that he was world class and anyone who doubted that was clearly an idiot.

I thought you’d been a little quiet recently! Now it makes sense. Can’t say I blame you :(

You're quite right there, I don't think it's just down to the manager - nobody could walk in and fix this. That said, he's faltering now. Last season was fairly decent, and he's brought in some new players, and we've fallen off a cliff. It's like when Ole finished the season well, we added Varane, CR7 and Sancho, and things turned sour almost immediately.

I am just hoping Ratcliffe will get some control and start to change things, but the whole club is a depressing mess and there's no sign of that changing in the near future.

Every game is just more of the same, it's real hard work.
