Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th Dec - 1st Jan 2025]

It's all good managers having a "style", but if the players are clearly incapable / it doesn't suit the league then persisting with it is just stupid. Work with what you've got, progressively moving towards how you want to play. Ange and Amorin are really struggling when they had the best team in the league at their previous roles, it's easier to implement stuff like that when you usually dominate. Adapt or die.

In fairness, Sporting weren't the best team when he took over. That aside though, agreed.

Well we played some lovely football in the first half hour. Took our foot off the gas after that which would be fine if we were 3 or 4 up like we could have been, but a bit risky with only a 2 goal advantage.

I’d like to see them come out for the second half with the same intensity as the start of the first and put this game to bed.

Nail on head. Amorim will not have the time or money to get his system playing how he wants with these players. That is pretty obvious now.

Not seeing the point in trying to play a system without players who can play that system. Would have been better to keep RvN til end of season then bring the new guy in. At this rate he will be gone by end of season. Do we have anyone that can beat a player with pace or skill??
Gona be a tough watch til end of season

I'm going to put some Bob Marley on and light some in

On 19 August 2022, Real Madrid and Manchester United announced that they had reached an agreement for the transfer of Casemiro. Three days later, he signed a four-year contract with the English club, with an option for an additional year's extension

United will be hoping for a two year extension. Good business ;)

We won the league only 12 years ago and a European Trophy 8 years ago. :P

Only Chelsea, City and Liverpool have done better in both Europe and Domestic.

What does that make Arsenal, Newcastle, Spurs etc? ;)
I've never felt United played good entertaining football for a long time, in fact even before Fergie retired we had needed a midfield for a good 5 years, we still do 20 years later!

Yes the manger should be playing a system that suits the players until he gets in the ones he wants if the current lot can't which looks like it currently. Trouble is, which is a good thing for us fellow club fans is it looks like he needs at least 8 players to make a start
