Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th Dec - 1st Jan 2025]

Perhaps I am just not quite as engaged as some of you lot but I'm not overly worried. We won't be relegated. Hopefully Amorim will get a few signings in January and we will see what hes like when he has a summer transfer window.

Confidence plays a huge part - look at Man City too. The relegation stuff is just people looking for drama. We’ll get enough Bruno penalties to finish well clear of relegation.

You maybe clear but well clear isn’t likely, let’s say you lose to us Sunday then lose to arsenal as well.

Teams below you win you couldn’t be potentially few pts off at best.

Do I think Utd would go down? No as likely get some players in Amorim wants in Jan to help steady it

I don’t think you will be well clear off it though

Second highest wage bill in the league that squad lol , honestly I'd just start using some of the youth at least they'll put in effort fight for the shirt and can genuinely back them would be understandable if we lost

Should be able to get a couple of points, Southampton, Brighton and Fulham after that.

Mid table rather than relegation

Arsenal is FA cup but your right no game is truly winnable game for us right now.

Of course it is. Its quite sad how much other fans seem to care about us and how much time and energy they put into trying to wind up United fans. Part of the reason I don't really get that involved these days. Its just boring reading constant arguing between opposition fans trying to get a rise and United fans rising to it.

I will say am not saying it for drama, it’s a fact Utd are not far of a relegation scrap your own manager stated it himself.

Of course there is banter at times, am I liking Utd struggles certainly same way many Utd fans laughed at us pre FSG when we’re also nearly bankrupt as a club etc people just need to take it as most of times it is a joke

You're going to get banned for posting that

It's plausible that United won't win a match in Jan

Utd need to probably hit rock bottom for the owners and the structure to wake up
Wake up how exactly? To play Amorim's system they need at least 6 new players (2 wingbacks, midfielder, CB, 2 attackers), on top of that they will need a new keeper and possible a left sided attacker, another cb to even think about challenging for top 4

I’m not referring the Utd current crop of players waking up.

They cannot play Amorim system. The club itself needs a wake up in how it’s ran, every outsider can see it.

They spent fortune to get Dan ashworth and didn’t even last a year, how Utd is set up and ran is laughable

I mean I don’t care if Utd collapse anyway but the problems are obvious

I have no issue with banter. Its one of the reasons I like football and talking about it but it has to be good natured and supposed to be a joke. Too many people are just trying to be nasty and start an argument. This is however a general football fan issue I understand. Whenever I have the bright idea to read the BBC comments on any football article it reminds me how stupid and small minded the average fan is from every club. Completely off topic point scoring and bickering.

Personally I am more than happy to see different teams doing well. Its nice to see City struggling at the moment and some other clubs having a good spell. Shame Liverpool are running away with the league but hey ho. The fight for Europe this season could be really interesting because I don't think United or Tottenham will be there so there are quite a few places up for grabs.

Ineos aren't exactly known for running a stable football environment though? Even ignoring Nice and Lausanne the past 6 months have just been panic decisions on top of pr disasters. You only have to look at the man utd fans expectations over the past 6 months, optimism of a CL spot - to midtable table acceptance - to hoping they don't get dragged into a relegation dogfight.

They don't have the 'excuse' FSG had and Liverpool being their 1st foray into owning a football club so mistakes would be made.
