Just a quick comparison of LVG's season to Moyes. After 32 games LVG has 65 points to Moyes 54. Moyes FINISHED the season with 64 points... LVG with 6 games left has already beaten Utd's last season total.
Last four games at this point were interesting as well. Moyes played Liverpool, West ham, City and Villa in that order. They lost 3-0 a piece to Liverpool and City and won 2-0 and 4-1 against the other two.
LVG's past four games has been Spurs, Liverpool, Villa, Man City with results 3-0, 2-1, 3-1, 4-2. Moyes utter inability to even compete with the top 6, largely with the same squad used. Who is different in the last few games, Blind starting? Having checked, Blind was the only new player who started that game, cba'd to check out the line up vs City last year, probably different but almost the entire team was available to him. LVG has gotten better performances out of every single player including Valencia(who still sucks but less badly).
Oh, Utd are 3rd compared to 7th at the same point last year as well.
Also feel like I should point out that when people were criticising LVG for training players too hard and having too many injuries... I did suggest there were two possibilities. One was that the injuries continue or get worse, the other was the players get used to training and playing harder and become more resilient and less injury prone over time. A injury plagued 6 months to 'fix' a chronic training/injury issue that then has far less injuries for the next several years is a good choice to make. It's obviously not certain but Jones/Smalling/Young/others look more robust, look stronger, fitter and have played more consistently without getting injured than they have for years.
EDIT:- the more you look at the comparison between the two seasons the funnier it gets.
LVG 5 losses, Moyes 10 losses at the same point 12 total. Though only one a piece to the bottom half is not bad for Moyes.
Against main rivals, Pool, City, Arsenal, Chelsea.
Moyes had 5 losses 2 draws 1 win, the one win was Arsenal at home, basically a given
Drew Arsenal away and Chelsea at home(with Mourinho barely attempting to play away from home).
LVG 1 loss to City, 1 draw with Chelsea, 4 wins against Liverpool(2), Arsenal and City. Still has Chelsea and Arsenal to play but already has 4 wins vs 1 and 1 loss vs 5, even being thrashed in both games LVG would have the massively better record.
