Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [13 - 17th April 2013]

It's been confirmed that an Everton fan was stabbed by a QPR fan on Priory Road after the match. Suffered a punched lung but he's stable and not a life threatening situation.

From a lad on GOT who was walking down there and seen it.

A few QPR fans kept running at a load of Everton fans who just kept knocking them back, then some tit stabbed a lad and jogged off before anyone realised. That's it basically. Police took at least 5 minutes to show their faces and it was another 10 before the ambulance got there.

There was about 20/30 lads involved, like. A bit of a scuffle I'd say.

I doubt I'll ever take my kids to football games, all it does is attract scum of the earth.

It's every where though. When I go to watch my brother play for the uni team in I think it's the 3rd tier of Welsh football some of the old men that watch from the away team are shocking. Calling the ref anything and everything, who are beyond terrible there's no argument about that, but still there's no need for it. If the league hasn't assigned linesmen to the fixture then players on either team run the line and some of the abuse the Aber lads get is so bad. I've been there when there was a guy (30 ish) who had 3 of his kids there, think they were playing Aberaeron, the oldest must have been 7 or 8 and this guy was going off his head at the ref. Some of the older men were telling him to calm down but he just kept going for nearly 10 minutes, he spend a couple of minutes screaming "you're a ****ing **** (c word), your a **** ref" for a good couple of minutes.

Is he out of contract in the summer? Just wondering if that's one of the reasons for all the media work he's doing atm?

Yeah he is. Been really in the shop window the past couple of months, think he's done 5 Live match commentary twice or three times including a CL match. 2nd time on MOTD maybe and he did Monday Night Football a few weeks a go.

I'd say it looks like he's off then, might be the reason behind Pip Nev's departure as well

On a different subject why didn't Spurs sign Remy? He's so much better than all their strikers combined :o

Aye, we'll have him back :)

AV jumped too quickly for him, should have spent more time in the Championship really before a Prem team lumped money on him.

It's very weird, he said yesterday that the team needs rebuilding, fresh faces to build for next season constantly using 'we' and all this. Read here - http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...on-need-major-overhaul-in-summer-8570282.html

Said the other day about how Mirallas needs to toughen up, trying to challenge the squad in the media which he hasn't really done in the past. It's pretty strange, he changed his mind from him maybe deciding come the second half of the season, then after January and now it's at the end of the season. But Kenwright says they only need a 5 minute conversation to sort it out... who knows. Money / transfer cash, if we get into Europe will all play apart.

Here's a stat to make all us Man Utd supporters cry; RVP's currently on his longest goal drought (in terms of appearances) since he was at Feyenoord :(

That Henderson red card:o

Some of the lower league refereeing is absolutely terrible. I was at the Sheff Utd match earlier, and Swindon had about 8 bookings.. I think I remember 2? of them being actual bookings, the others I weren't even sure were fouls. Terrible standard.

You sausage!

Personally i think he's awful. Touch of a rapist, tackles worse than Scholes and gets booked almost every game.

Last few games I think he's been great and one of the reasons we've been playing well. I'll agree he's been pretty dire for the most part though but you can't knock his 94% pass completion rate today (43 out of 46) :p.

To be fair I think it's down to the rest of the team rather than RVP himself. The amount of chances that he's had has been pathetic, but because he's RVP any opportunity that would have to be a wondergoal to go in are being called "chances".

It's been 3 entire games since his last 3 goals in the two games before that, the difference is playing with Holland his team mates weren't all playing like utter retards. He's also got several indirect freekicks, there was again an article on footie 365 that was talking about his off the ball movement being simply fantastic against City, the delivery and play behind him was just abysmal.

When the team behind you is playing like poo, and you're getting few if any quality chances, it puts more pressure on the few good chances you get, and you end up missing a couple, pressure builds up more, thats football. It all stems from crap delivery and crap performances from everyone else.

The fact that he banged 3 goals in, and has been taking good freekicks, his movement is excellent. You watch UTd play in the past month or two, and the guys who can't cross, or can't make a 5 yard pass are obvious, while RVP looks like a top notch player being given scraps.

Goals on Sunday, Kamara really angry about the Arsenal goals and he's right, even the second goal was bull. Giroud has as much of the defenders shirt as the defender had his on the first goal, never in a million years a penalty, and the second goal Giroud had Bassong's shirt and pulled him back and out the way to get a tap in, a bigger call than the first and much more of a foul(as he pulled him out the way to a much larger degree). The third goal was blatantly offside, and Sagna should quite obviously have been sent off.

We were pretty woeful and Norwich up to that point had deserved more out of the game, Arsenal once again need a huge amount of "luck" or, retarded refereeing to win. Has happened multiple times this season where we've moved up the table due to dodgy penalties(Fulham/West Brom in our run before xmas), and terrible performances with a flukey goal getting us the points, its not good enough, and hasn't been enough to beat anyone of any real quality in europe, league, or cups. Norwich should be fuming after seeing replays of all those decisions.

****ing Niall Quinn!!! As soon as he started speaking I cringed! How can they possible have a former chairman of the club he's commentating on provide unbiased views. He should **** off to ITV!
