Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [13th - 15th August 2011]

Young has been the best player on the pitch by a mile imo. Got a decision to make in y Fantasy team now. Not much to choose between Young and Nani, but can't afford them both. I think Young might just shade it though.

I think West Brom could have a decent season actually, there are worse teams in the league and i don't think they will be near relegation come the end of the season.
I agree about Long looking like a good signing as well, and Brunt is always a consistent performer.

I thought Anderson had a decent game as well actually, maybe he will finally prove himself this season. Though i think with him as the senior partner in midfield they might be found out against teams with a stronger midfield, Definitely be better with Carrick or Fletcher.(or a new mid, as they should have bought!)

De Gea just needs to get a bit more confidence and he'll naturally get better as a keeper, he's a really good young keeper.

His distribution is outstanding.

I thought Young could have done better, considering how much time he had on the ball his crossing wasn't that great and he needed to switch things up more rather than cutting in constantly (thankfully he started doing this towards the end and we got a goal out of it!)

well - yet again Utd make it difficult for themselves, but thanks to Own Goal they win again (just)

Sounded like Cleverley and Anderson did well (as did Rooney) , Welbeck was iffy imo - de Gea will improve (but he really needs to do it fast, much bigger tests coming up in the next few weeks).....will be scary if Vidic and Rio are both unavailable for several weeks (as well as Rafael ) . Hoping Evra 's knock isnt too bad

Fabio and Young did well together (although Young wasted a few good chances too), Smalling looks out of place on the right, much better as centre half but looks like he will be there for some time with so many defensive injuries

Can someone tell me how Welback has made the last couple of England squads - awful first touch, passing, and incapable of getting into areas to score.

Hopefully this convinces SAF that keeping Berba is a good move, having Welbeck and Hernandez is great but we need experience up there too.

He deserves to be starting, H'ndez is a bench-scoring striker, but if he starts his energy and that spring/surprise factor diminish. Berb can handle the ball all 90mins.
