Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [14 - 15th December 2013]

Bit of a shame that hes gone and got himself banned for 2 games, really no need to make such a gesture. I understand that things werent going his way but he let his emotions get the better of him and has cost him a 2 match ban. Which he deserves i might add.

Hopefully he will learn from this and keep his emotions in check next time, well i hope so as we could do without these suspensions at the moment.

Stop it

I find it silly how fans can make this gesture as much as they like, yet player does it they get a ban and/or a fine.

Rule for one, rule for all, right?

1) Fans arent payed 10's / 100's of thousands a week
2) Fans arent idolised like players
3) Less likely for a single fan's gesture to be picked up and broadcast all around the world (and therefore affecting 2) )
4) For obvious reasons there are different rules come into effect on the field compared to off the field. (A footballer off the field is a civilian and is treated as such - ie a player in the crowd doing a similar sign couldnt face any reprimand from the FA. Now whether his club decided it was bringing the club's name into disripute is a different matter)
