Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [14th - 17th December 2018]

Shaqiri is quality, he was very good at bayern, I don't get how he ended up at Stoke or how we even got him so cheap.

Fact is he was there and created what he could and his brief link up play was also good.

Utd fans can't honestly belive they deserved anything from that game.

Every goal bar mane initial one had an element of luck, but we were all over you 2nd half only time Utd calmed it down was when we gifted you the goal you got.

Clyne did well I thought today too considering barely played at all this season

• “interfering with playmeans playing or touching the ball passed or. touched by a team-mate. • “interfering with an opponent” means preventing an opponent from. playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent's. line of vision or challenging an opponent for the ball.

I cant see how the 1st goal (2 minutes in) is obstructing the line of vision from what - 12 ft away?

Its certainly not anything else. IF lukaku had touched the ball then rule it out for offside for sure (or if he was right on top of Allison) , but without a touch he isn't obstructing anything

We also created as many decent opportunities as you did that no one connected to (right across goal line) - DDG made what....2 really decent saves , majority of Liverpool's shots were skied

Yes...yes it's a joke lol.

I don't think this is all Jose's fault but United are not 19 points worse then Liverpool. It's mad what's going on with them really.

What makes me laugh is that some people say "the squad isn't good enough, its not Mourinhos fault". No, the squad isn't good enough to win the league. Thats a fact but we are outplayed in every area of the game against every single team we play pretty much. If Mourinho was even getting 60% out of the players we have we would be beating most of the league relatively comfortably. There is nothing positive you can say about Man Utd. at the moment. We aren't an Arsenal who play good football but lose too many games because of our mental strength. We aren't a Spurs who lose too many games because their squad is thin in places and has no money spent on it. We have spent £400m for this **** to deliver the worst football in the league and then he has the gall to blame the players.

Mourinho saying they were lucky. Moron.

Worst start to a season for 26 years.

Yep, it's painful.

Mourinho's head has gone, thinks he can get top 4 .... playing like that they aren't even top 10.

Doubt they get top 6 with Jose at the helm.

To be fair, we are currently 6th and playing like utter **** so there is no reason to think we shouldn't be around the same position at the end of the season. I don't think it will get much worse that it is. Top 4 is a pipe dream however. I reckon we will finish 6th 20 odd points off 5th.

He attempted to play the ball. Offside.

Remember all Mourinho's whining about how Man City outspent them and so it's not fair as you can't compete with that spending. They are 6th..., 8 points off Arsenal, 11 off Chelsea, 18 off City and 19 off Liverpool. Utd outspent all but City. In fact they are a single point above Wolves and with the same goal difference, how much did Wolves spend.

Utd were a joke today as they have been for much of the season. The crazy thing is in a lot of games I've watched they've not deserved the points, lucky late goals have got them a bunch of points from draws/wins that their performance over 90 mins hasn't come close to deserving.

Utd can kep waiting before they fire Mourinho or fire him sooner and try to fix the season. Thinking back to Chelsea the turn around when they fired him was insane.

Simply attempting to play the ball doesn't make it offside but the fact that he's directly affected Alisson's ability to play the ball is what makes it offside. Alisson cannot move to cut out the cross/shot until after it passes Lukaku which is the only reason why it goes in.

I know, I couldn't be bothered to write that out lol.

As the FA say

  • clearly attempting to play a ball which is close when this action impacts on an opponent or
  • making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball
