But surely he wouldn't have a hard on for Nev in that case. You mean pretty soft? Flaccid maybe?

What game were you watching :/

If you quoted it correctly without removing words and using context I was still talking about City.

If Chelsea stole a goal they'd be in trouble, they were by FAR the better team

If chelsea stole a goal THEY'D be in trouble... do you think I meant Chelsea would be in trouble or was the entire paragraph talking about City. City would be in trouble if Chelsea stole a goal, the context of the sentence was City, not Chelsea.

AS for the hard on, it's a common saying when someone has a grudge against someone, effectively, or almost literally he had a bone to pick with Fabregas ;)

Completely and utterly ridiculous thing to say, every one of the best ever strikers, regardless of who you chose or think it is, has games where they score 3 from 3 shots AND games where they score 0 from 10 shots, it's the nature of sport. He's a phenomenal striker and a brilliant goal scorer. Like I said, there isn't a natural goal scorer out there who hasn't had way worse games than Aguero had today with finishing. Aguero's all around game today was freaking amazing.

I said he's an incredible player but he's not what I'd call a natural goal scorer. There aren't many strikers I'd take ahead of Aguero but I'd say there are a few better finishers than him.

What actually is a "natural goal scorer"? This leads me onto the next question, is that an unnatural goal scorer? Guessing there must be loads of them if Aguero is one?

Shearer, Fowler, Owen, that sort of thing, I guess people you'd count on to definitely shoot on target and knowing where to and being able to place the ball. (relative to other players obviously)

Haha spot on Souness. Seen right through Mourinho there ;)

Such as? (genuine q!)

Costa for one. If you asked me who I'd rather have in my side it would be Aguero but if you asked me who I'd like a chance to fall to, it would be Costa.

Fowler's probably the best example of what I'm talking about. His all round game wasn't close to being in the same class as an Aguero but for purely finishing chances from anywhere within 20 yards and in anyway (right foot, left foot, header, tap in, volley etc) he was as good as they come.

Why though? I can see Costa seems better because he's so bullish, but Aguero can be surprisingly strong. Other than that I don't see how he's a better goalscorer (as such). Just looked up last season, Costa had a slightly better conversion rate but you could argue he had better service (Hazard and Fabregas in particular).

Aguero takes some freekicks and is far far more willing to shoot from outside the box and more difficult angles. I can see Aguero scoring a stunner from 30 yards into the top corner much more easily than Costa. Costa has a higher shots/goals ratio because both the team was set up to create chances for him in a certain way and most of his shots came inside the box.

Giroud is one of if not the best finisher from within 10 yards or so of the goal in the league but can't shoot from 30 yards, or 15 yards for that matter worth a damn. Aguero is excellent from close range and excellent from any angle, any type of goal.

For me a natural goal scorer is one who can score from anywhere, not just who has the best shots/goals ratio, in general terms scoring one on one with the goalie from within 10 yards is way easier than scoring from 12-35 yards with multiple defenders to shoot around. Aguero can score any type of goal, Costa is very good but not remotely as wide ranging in his ability.

Aguero has also scored consistently well for donkeys years now. Fowler for how good he was managed two season scoring more than 20 league goals in his career, he had plenty of really pretty poor seasons in front of goal.

EIther way, to suggest that there are scorers who absolutely would have scored 4 out of 4 today is absurd because as said pick whoever you think the bestest goal scorer in history was, they had games FAR worse than Aguero had today as well as better ones. Same goes for Aguero he's had worse and better games.

There is no player anywhere, any time in football history who consistently scored 100% of their chances every game. Messi has one of the best and most consistent goals/shots ratio in history and rarely gets above a 1 in 3.5 over a season.
