Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [15th - 19th September 2017]

Another meh performance from United, similar to the 4-0 Vs Swansea.

Needs to be more intensity and urgency in general.

Just think City might struggle for consistency with such a woeful back 3 and only Fernandinho in front. Saying that, we have Bailly, Jones and apparently no competent left back. Should be a very interesting season.

Not a great performance from United today, but a win is a win, plus all these big wins are certainly helping with the goal difference. What concerns me is that we didn't take the chances we had in the first half, we could and should have been two or three goals ahead by half time. Having said that, the fact that teams keep on crumbling late in the game suggests that we put enough pressure on them that they are knackered come the final ten minutes and can't maintain their defensive composure.

They are indeed. I'm not entirely convinced by them though. Not sure why but they're banging goals in like no tomorrow.

I think City's defence is poor, it's made to look better because they keep the ball so much that the opposition don't have a chance to get at them. Against teams that have lots of pace on the counter-attack or that have enough quality to match them with possession I think they will continue to struggle.

Lukaku still missing quite a few chances, just thinking has he scored any you didn't expect him to? I can't think of any moments of magic where he's converted a, say, 30% chance, but he's certainly missed some very simple ones. His miss today was big; if he scored in the first half the game was over and it would have been a much simpler game. Instead we had to battle through another hour or so before we got the 2nd.

I'm sure a lot of teams would if they had an opening like Everton. City, Chelsea, Spurs and United!

Indeed and as before we really can't cope with playing in the tin pot European joke. Luckily and hopefully it shouldn't last long. We really don't have the squad to rest 6 players and rotate during the week like that and now having the fixtures to build confidence can't help.

Yeah, Evertons first 5 games have gone about as well as expected. They should happily finish mid table I reckon.

City easy favourites for the title. So many quality players everywhere apart from defence but if you can blow teams away then thats not such an issue.

Lukaku always looks crap but still manages to get goals

I agree but his conversion rate last season was only beaten by Kane. At least we're making opportunities and he's scoring.
