Lukaku needs to improve his finishing to reach the absolute top, he's very effective and quite unusual as a striker - a bit of a poacher yet still big and very mobile/quick.

He's doing well at the moment though, he's scored more than Kane and had less shots.

Lukaku still missing quite a few chances, just thinking has he scored any you didn't expect him to? I can't think of any moments of magic where he's converted a, say, 30% chance, but he's certainly missed some very simple ones. His miss today was big; if he scored in the first half the game was over and it would have been a much simpler game. Instead we had to battle through another hour or so before we got the 2nd.

I would agree with that about Lukaku, but then look at the amount of free kicks / corners completely wasted by Utd by poor delivery (or going for the glory only to hit the post or whatever).

He's Manus new Andy Cole. It will be those tight games when he gets one chance and blows it but he will score plenty with lots of chances.

Zlatan missed decent chances against City and Liverpool (to name two games) last season, so its a little harsh to blame Lukaku at the nigh on complete opposite end of his career if it happens to him also

Its the same with Lukaku as it is with a lot of other players. Once people get it in their heads that a player is wasteful its very hard to change their minds. Aguero misses plenty of chances, Sanchez misses lots as well. Zlatan missed quite a lot of good chances last season. Lukaku is doing well. He isn't the most lethal striker in the world but he is very good.

Just watched the City - Watford highlights and they were about as deserving of their scoreline as we were. 2 offside goals, Watford should have had a penalty and they missed a couple of great chances. Watford defending was awful as well.

Still don't think we know who is going to be title favourites. United and City are looking top of the pile stats wise but neither team is actually taking sides apart unless their opponent has a shocker defensively.
