Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [16 - 17th March 2013]

What's the news on the toon lad then?

I'm not sticking up for the player but you can tell he went in there to win the ball and he just messed it up completely. should have got red.

At least Pardew has a scapegoat for a bad performance :p

Perch should have got sent off two for that challenge he made at the edge of the box. Where's Simpson nowadays? Toon will need a right back as I presume Debuchy has done his hammy?

Foot not high enough for a red...

*bitter man u fan* :p

Of course not but I dont hear the same Geordies moaning about Tiote chopping folk down week in week out. It was a bad challenge mate, get over it. Its interesting how you classify Tiote as a "tough tackler" when he is simply a dirty git. 36 yellows and 2 reds is it ?

McManaman is a scouser mate.
What has Tiote's constant retarded behaviour got to do with a leg breaking 'tackle' made by a Wigan player? As if it's suddenly excused because Tiote throws his weight about... Nobody comments on every single late tackle he makes because there simply isn't enough time in the day.

25 mill yeah, Chelsea?

We were robbed! Bunn sent off, then a marginal penalty against us, and then they blatantly handball in the area but no penalty.

Gah!

The red card was highly questionable, it's debatable if it was even a hand ball let alone an intentional denial of a goal scoring opportunity

The Norwich red was, well, a straight forward red, had he run out jumped and led with his head with his arms by his side and it accidentally hit his arm and only a bit, thats one thing, but jumping with your arms way up, he's asking to be sent off frankly.

Still Sunderland were dog **** at per usual. O'neill has turned them into a steaming pile of turd, I should say a bigger steaming pile of turd. He's spent big on the wrong players, tap in artists shouldn't cost you as much as Fletcher did, goals are one thing, being a good all around player who can do more for the team as well as scoring goals is another. Johnson is as cack as anyone who watched him knew he was, lightweight, selfish, and massively overpaid.

I'm only sorry that a few freak results might well see them stay up. Of teams that deserve to go down, they are pretty high up the list. Villa have a weird team full of youngsters and rebuilding from scratch a couple years ago basically, Sunderland have spent on more experience and are crap in every single way, not least lack of entertainment. Southampton and City should have killed them, but a week of playing better, 6 points, might be the difference between them staying up or not.

Might I add Tiote yellow cards are always for persistent fouling or the odd kick. Never studs up career ending tackles. He gets label as a thug he more a stupid ****.

Super game at the Bridge yesterday. Best atmosphere of the season and a glimpse of what will come when we fire on all cylinders. Lamps got his 200th goal and Hazard was in another class with his and the build up to it. There could have been at least five if not more goals.

To top it all there was a nice bonus from Spurs, cheers! :p

It wasn't where he was from, it was who he played for. Semantics aside doing niggly challenges and being a PITA isn't the same as that.

No news yet.

I think originally he did go for the ball you can see him swinging for it, halfway through he seems to relaise he isn't getting it and changes from swinging for the ball to getting the man.

I would imagine he thought "you aren't getting the ball if I'm not so I'm taking you out." that's what it looks like to me though I would like to think that he wasn't wanting to hurt him, just stop him getting past him. Either way though it was abysmal.

No scapegoat for the performance, we were worth a point for the second half performance but in general it was a poor performance, very disjointed.

Simpson will be off with Tulisa, that or getting his face smashed in around Manchester again :p

He's had the odd Europa League game but he seems to want a stupid large pay rise as he's greedy (think we are offering him around 30-35k to make him among the pay of the non "star" players but he wants around 50k) so Cashley has no intention of keeping him.

I'm not sure how bad Debu's injury was iirc they
