Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [16 - 21st August 2013]

As nice as that Chelsea free kick was, why on earth didn't the keeper save it.

It wrong footed the keeper, it was curling left, then curved right, so he was starting to lean to his right(the keeper and was fighting his own movement to stretch up to his left when the ball turned.

They often look bad for the keeper and he could have done better, but that was a much tougher shot to save than it looked.

It just looked like the keep was in a place that he could have saved it, his hand was just in the wrong place as he swiped at it. I would wager that a good keeper would save that most of the time.

I only saw the first half of the Chelsea game, but I thought Chelsea looked excellent. Hull looked very poor, which obviously helped Chelsea.

A little surprised at Chelsea not putting more past Hull in the second half, but thought that as good as Lampard's free kick was, it was poor defending in the wall and the keeper should have gotten more of a hand to that, also, Torres dived to get it :p.

Hull didn't actually look that bad in the second half, they have a decent midfield but relying on Graham for goals is stupid. They should have signed Bent or someone who isn't stealing a living in the Prem.

I hardly think it was Grahams fault. He didn't get anywhere near the standard of service, so its really harsh to judge him on that basis, in my opinion.

You'll soon discover how poor Graham is ;)

I'm glad we got rid tbh!

Santon out of tonight's game.

I'd personally like to see Pardew grow some balls and give Dummett a chance. Mbiwa needs to play central with Colo. Taylor is carrying a knock and shouldn't be anywhere near the starting XI. Gutierrez is also carrying a knock, but no doubt Pards will still play him, this baffles me more than anything:

Pardew's Line Up:
Krul
Debuchy Taylor Colo Mbiwa
Cabaye Tiote Guti
HBA Cisse Sissoko

I'd like to see:
Krul
Debuchy Mbiwa Colo Dummett
Cabaye Tiote Sissoko
HBA Cisse Gouffran

I'm fearing a bit for you tonight, I can see it being a bit of a hiding.

Your not the only one, although I think 99% of people feel this way so fingers crossed that we we defy the odds on people being overconfident. Best we can hope for is an early red card to one of their players, then maybe we might steal something
