Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [16 - 21st August 2013]

I was extremely happy with that result, nice to win the opening game of the season and Palace made us work for it. Everyone put in a good shift and the new faces seemed to settle in really well, especially Paulinho and then Capoue coming off the bench, looks like he could be a real rock in the middle.

Not quite sure on the hate for Siggy, thought he looked to put himself about quite a bit, shame he couldn't finish his chances though. Dembele showed again how good he is on the ball and seems to have glue on his boots, the defence looked extremely composed when playing the ball out and really glad that Rose had a good game, his pace came in useful on a couple of occasions.

With that possible stumbling block out of the way, I hope we can kick on and continue to gel as a team.

The introduction of huddlestone and Livermore have livened it up. I think huddlestone will be good for them this season.

Certainly made a bit more of a go of it in the second half, but you still feel that Chelsea have it in them to perhaps score a third or a fourth, but it would be nice for us to get a goal too.

Good attempt from Schlurre there, heart in my mouth as a Hull fan because I thought they have played quite well in the second half and a goal would perhaps have been a bit harsh.

Well it was the result we always expected, but I think Hull City have a lot to be proud of in that performance. You could argue that Chelsea took the foot off the gas a bit, but the Tigers kept the ball a lot better and got balls into the box a lot more in the second half. Aluko and Brady in particular were bright going forwards and played the ball with confidence.

Certainly nothing to be ashamed of for Hull City from that start. It's now important to get results in the next two matches.

:)

One of my favourite transfers of last season;)

He got it chanted to him last season and I can't remember by which club, but then he scored against them, ran up to their fans and put a hand up to his eye (like you do when you pretend to to look through a telescope...etc). Their fans loved it, to be fair!

For those not watching, Cesc starts in the first game of the season, no Neymar or Iniesta, Cesc gets an assist within 4 minutes with a fantastic run and could probably ahve scored himself but gave Sanchez a tap in instead.

Not a good sign for Utd fans thinking he may be benched and want out :p
