Thing is neither mata or januzaj are the fastest players. Every team needs a couple of fast players who can get on the ball and commit defenders. We don't really have any top class players who can do that.
yeah, only if they can get the ball in space though, United sure need some signings...
They should go 4 at the back United. Put Young at RB, Blackett at LB, take Hernandez off and bring Fell on..

It's about the same in strength, bit less experience, vastly superior manager.
Signings are crucial to cement top four, our strongest 11 can get it, but with injuries etc that's a big gamble.
Teams can do well without pace - look at Arsenal last season as a prime example, we were utterly paceless for 80% of the season - however having at least one player with true speed makes you a million times more deadly on the counter attack.

Have to wonder what will happen if United fail to get top 4 again this season, especially if its down to lack of signings (funds possibly due to the debt).
It's not due to the debt (that's having little to no impact now).
I think a large part of it is LvG wanting to wait until he's assessed the squad properly.

Holland had robben who could hold the ball, run past people, shoot and score. That's why holland did well with this formation with a load of no names everywhere else defending their *** off.

Even though the only team to have spent less than United in the last 9 years of teams that have competed in the champions league is Arsenal? There have been glaring holes in the team for a long time now.

The idea of a back 5 is you don't concede and trade that off by accepting you'll create fewer chances. Well we've created practically no chances and conceded so thats an epic failure so far.
Yep. Rooney has had a shot from 30 yards and a weak header. The best players have had nothing to get onto.
