Dier starts as central defender for the first time against Defoe on his debut. I'm not hopeful of a clean sheet.
Good to see Soldado, stambouli and dembele start with Kane, Eriksen and Chadli. It may result in our two best players being out of position but let's see how it works.

He should be starting ahead of nearly any midfielder (possibly excluding Carrick)
Well not ahead of Blind because he's played in a defensive role before. Di Maria needs to start as he is more of an attacking midfielder we can't have herrera and mata for example because di mara > mata
Let's hope Evans doesn't make any errors!
I don't know quite why Herrera doesn't get more game time. When we have played with him at the bottom of a diamond he has been great most of the time.

Against QPR Utd (even on this season's form) should not need more than Carrick in the DM position.
4-4-2 , with the midfield in a diamond with Carrick at the base, Herrera and Di Maria in the middle and Mata up top with Rooney and RF up front would be ideal
Yes but we need a proper RB before we can play four at the back, let's be honest Valencia can neither attack nor defend
I don't really understand why we are playing a back 5 without 2 wing backs that can bomb forwards. Valencia is just **** 99.9% of the time and will only go forwards with purpose a few times each game and the rest of the time he just stops, checks back and passes it backwards to our DM usually. Blind is not a WB either. He is fine as a left back but I wouldn't say he has the attributes to fill that role.
