Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [16th - 22nd August 2011]

15 - If the Premier League had started 26 February (Carling Cup Final weekend), Arsenal would be 15th after 13 games. Beleaguered.

Did that one match make such a psychological impact on the team?

No, it was all the matches and who we played, we had a good run in Jan/Feb because we played most of the bottom 8, after that we played a lot of top half of the table teams, with Cesc injured we couldn't win, really at most stages of the season.

IIRC from after the Stoke game we've now played 13 games, won twice lost four, drawn the rest, pathetic record.

I've said for 3 years, people have no idea just how good Cesc is and how much he was saving our asses. RVP is a simply awful lone striker, if it wasn't for Cesc being the best throughball player in the game 4-5-1 would have failed badly a long time ago for us. Wenger not replacing him before preseason, let alone the start of the season, is just about the biggest mistake any manager has ever made.

Remember what I said earlier about how I didn't think you were as foolish as you came across?

Yeah well, I take that back.

You're a wonderful demonstration of everything that is wrong with football.

:D:D couldnt have said it better lol.

Zamora injured :(

Schwarzer, Hughes, Senderos, Hangeland, JA Riise, Kasami, Murphy, Etuhu, Duff, Johnson, Dempsey

Good to see Kasami getting another start, looks a really good prospect at only 19. I hope Jol doesn't keep Hughes out on the right for too long though, Hangeland/Hughes are far too good together to be broken up. Guess the size/physicality of Wolves is why Senderos is playing too though..

chuffed to beat Sunderland as always, I do feel that Ryan Taylor is a forgotten man. I don't see what Danny Simpson offers at right back that Taylor doesn't

Norwich conceded penalty and down to 10 men... but saved by Ruddy! Ayala on to fill the void. Backs to the wall time...

Mother watching on ESPN from holiday in Maldives informs me by txt it should't have been a sending off...

It wasn't even in the box!

As a stoke fan I'll admit it wasn't really a penalty nor sending off. I wouldnt call it backs to the wall time, out of a bench of 7 we've got 1 keeper, 1 midfielder and 4 defenders left to bring on to change something. Our squad depth is none existant.
