Technically we all forgot about the league cup first round... This saw some surprise knockouts including Morecambe putting out Blackpool, Scunthorpe beating Derby on pen's after being 3-0 down at half time (taking it to 5-5) and Northampton beating Cardiff 2-1

Only been watching as I want Watford or MK Dons for a mid week away game to go to (seeing as some league aways this year have to be skipped).

But real stuff yay league football. Boo away at city is the hardest game to open against.

Least I'll be in an "irish" pub full of united fans for it :D (though I'm not allowed to wear my kit for it as apparently the sash one with a collar isn't post wedding meal smart)

Finally the longest summer evah is almost over, kinda glad we're last up in the first weekend and good to get a tricky fixture like Everton away out of the way early as well. Can't see any of the new signings being involved from the start so I reckon we'll go with;

--------------De Gea--------------
Valencia--Vidic--Ferdinand--Evra
Nani---Carrick---Scholes---Young
--------------Rooney
---------------Welbeck

Subs: Lindegaard, Rafael, Cleverley, Anderson, Kagawa, Giggs, Hernandez

Would love to think a certain Dutchman will be involved but alas I can't see it :(

Toms back with his formations, it must be the new season :D

Glad I kept ESPN as Newcastle are on, thought wont be happy with that if we lose :D

I fancy our chances but we have some injury worries, that and Spurs tend to do well against us.

So, for the first time this season......... HAWAY THE LADS!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Time for another slow start to the season for Everton, United might score a lot of goals monday :(
I'm sure we don't start our pre-season until boxing day.

I think you will win, and win comfortably. We only have Defoe who obviously can't play as a lone striker, and a youth player in Kane. Our midfield may include Jenas which says it all. I'm going for 4-1 to Newcastle, while I obviosuly hope for a decent result, if we lose I hope we get smashed as it will force Levy to get his money out and buy a Modric replacement and a striker.

Newcastle also on ESPN the week after against Chelski

Bury away :( don't know why I didn't book travel when the fixtures come out... going to cost about £80 return

Surely Rafael will be chosen over Valencia  Valencia is shocking at right back.

I don't know where him being 'shocking' has come from as he isn't shocking at right back at all, he's standed in fine when needed.

Rafael played the entire Olympics so it's not that far fetched to see him being given a few days extra rest.

Valencia has been played at RB in Pre season a few times due to lack of options at the moment.

We could even see Carrick at CB!
