Rafael really is quite good. He's just young and needs to improve his discipline a bit. He makes poor decisions more often than he should.

Rvp is a pathetic player. ****ging off wenger and the club then joining one of our main rivals. Bet u would act the same if Rooney went to city. Hope rvp gets Injured or wins nothing

No he isn't, he really didn't do anything wrong. He's doesn't have to stay at Arsenal and he chose not to, and he let them know so they could replace him. He's a quality player and like any quality player, wants to win things. It's no different to Fabregas, or even Henry.

I can understand Arsenal fans hoping he wins nothing, or that he struggles, but wishing injury on him is a step too far and makes you look daft, bitter and ridiculous.

Get off your high horse. You would easily feel the same if it was your club. RVP slated wenger and Co in public and showed utter classless being a tool. For all the times wenger and the club stood by this fool through his injuries this is how he treats them? Pathetic. He went through this the wrong and disrespectful way end off.

I am not on a 'high horse'. I think wishing injury on players is pathetic. End of discussion.

I should probably elaborate on my previous post and say when exactly has RVP 'slated' Wenger or Arsenal? He was very respectful in today's press conference and AFAIK all he's ever said was his vision of how Arsenal should move forward was different than the club (which is hardly slating)

Indeed, he hasn't slated them at all. I can't see what he could have done differently.

You didn't all think the same when Rooney wanted out stating United lacked ambition. I know I looked over the thread again last night. Funny how view points change when it's in your favour :)

Here we go again with the 'you all/you lot' stuff. If you're going to accuse people of something, state their name individually.

I said Rooney was being a moron and that Berbatov was better (he is ;)), I just had a quick scan of that thread and I can't see anyone wishing injury on him.

But u still slated him. hipocrite and as i said, if it was your club you would act and feel the same as me in some degree. So again get off your high horse none arsenal fans because if it happened to your club, you would not be shouting with joy wouldnt you.

My only issue is with the injury stuff, nothing else. You seem to have trouble reading/understanding what I'm saying?

I am not a hypocrite, I haven't said you can't 'slate' him.

I also defended Rooney in that thread, even before he'd changed his mind.

In your position I'd be gutted to lose RvP, and annoyed, but I'd also understand considering that you haven't won ANYTHING for such a long time. Good players don't like that.

Can you read? :p

I didn't say "you all said"

I said you "You didn't all think" How is that "you all said"

And you didn't all think what Rooney did was ok, did you? I didn't even mention anything about it being ok about injuries, I was making refeernce to whether RVP was being respectfull to the club saying they lacked ambition.

Sorry, I must have been confused about that part.

I think most of us thought Rooney had a fair point to be honest, even if that wasn't his real reason and he just wanted a pay rise.

Investment was required and as we've now seen, money is there to be spent (£50/60m last season and £40-50m this season). That kind of funding is fairly sufficient, if spent wisely.

You don't think RVP did this for more money? Of course he did or he wouldn't have come out with all that guff about it meaning little to go elsewhere and win. It's a convenient line to peddle out because Arsenal wouldn't pay him what he would get at united. It's his last contract and tbh he has to look after himself but it's no different from Rooneys comments to engineer more money.

I disagree, I don't think it was about the money, I think it was because he wanted a better chance of actually winning something. Some players do care about that. He was obviously very dedicated to Arsenal, but the rest of the team just didn't cut it; for whatever reason.

Anyway this thread isn't about RVP and it's a done deal. :)

Quite right (though it will no doubt be brought up ten more times :p).

RVP is part to blame for us winning nothing for years

Errr, what?!

If it wasn't for him you probably wouldn't even be in the Champion's League now and probably wouldn't have been able to attract the players you've just signed.

The rest of that post is hilarious. You're the one who kept wanting Wenger sacked and now it's the players fault?

:o

You did say that Utd fans would lynch him though :p

Arsenal fans are reacting the same way Liverpool fans did when Torres left or how any other clubs fans would react if their star player left. Some people always overreact and say things they don't quite mean.

I did because I thought a lot of them would, I also said I wouldn't personally have lynched him so I seem to have all bases covered on this topic. :p

o so now your bringing up dead points i made a year ago when i said wenger should only be sacked if we dont make top4? your hilarous.

So ok bruv, you seriously think the lack of success is all to do with the board and wenger and NOTHING and i mean NOTHING to do with rvp and co?

So again tell me robbo, what did RVP do in the carling cup final. please tell me what did he do to that day?

thought so:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

So because he didn't perform in one game he's no good? I guess Messi should be called rubbish as he couldn't score past a ten man Chelsea team. ;)

Less of the rolleyes, it doesn't aid your point (not that you really have one).

Not quite. You're happy to criticise Arsenal fans for the way they're reacting to Van Persie leaving but you didn't say a word when Utd fans were acting the exact same way a little over 18 months ago.

As above, Arsenal fans have reacted no differently to the way Utd fans, Liverpool fans, Chelsea fans or Wigan's fan would have reacted in the same position.

I'm being critical of the Arsenal fans wishing injury on him. That is it. Nothing else. I'd expect many of them to be upset and now 'hate' him.

I've pointed out it's an utterly stupid thing to say. If a Man Utd fan said the same, I'd say the same thing.

Scored Arsenal's only goal

:D

Did i say rvp is no good? that his a crap player? did i say nasri, fabregas and co all crap players?

dear o dear come on robbo!! i know you are better then this man! read my posts :p

i said these players all have a part to blame for our lack of success. i never ever said these players are ****.

As you said in a previous post:

/End of discussion :D

I am reading your posts. You're basically blaming Wenger and the players.

Okay, players don't always perform, but as Tom pointed out, RvP scored in that cup final so he actually did something. He is the player we're talking about.

I also doubt a Carling Cup would have solved Arsenal's problems, anyway.

I sense we're going to go around in circles here so this is the last I'll say - you acknowledged that Utd fans would lynch him but didn't cricitise them, Arsenal fans however are bitter and so on.

If they'd wished injury on him, I would have been critical. That's the only instance that I've been critical here, I'm just being dragged into other discussions because of it (see this thread for reference :p).
