Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [18th - 20th March 2016]

Excited and nervous for the Tyne-Wear derby, especially after Norwich won yesterday.

Considering Newcastle haven't had a particularly good run against Sunderland recently, it's going to be even more of a challenge.

The phrase six-pointer gets banded about a lot, but if ever there was an appropriate occasion for it, this is it.

I'm just hoping Benitez has knocked some sense into them over the last week, and the players are up for it.

Today could be truly dreadful if Man Utd continue to play woeful football and City have one of 'those' days without Kompany where they look like an extremely well-paid pub side.

If United get top 4 then there is a real possibility that we will stick with LvG for the final year of his contract. I'm genuinely dreading that possibility.

Huge day up here football wise, can't knock either set of fans, both clubs still have excellent home and away followings despite playing **** poor football most seasons. Pubs and clubs open about 9am :D this is the biggest derby game for a long while.

Massive game today. If we lose we're surely going down.

Pretty attacking lineup:

Elliot, Janmaat, Mbemba, Lascelles, Colback Shelvey, Sissoko, Townsend, Wijnaldum, Perez, Mitrovic

LFC: Mignolet, Flanagan, Lovren, Sakho, Clyne, Can, Allen, Lallana, Coutinho, Origi and Sturridge.

Subs: Ward, Toure, Benteke, Henderson, Skrtel, Smith and Ojo.

Firmino's out today so it looks like we're playing 4-4-2 with Sturridge and Origi upfront. Really hope Ojo gets a few minutes in the second half, been very impressed with him when he's come on as sub.

<3 Coutinho

Isn't that 10 or 11 for the season? Don't think he's looked as good as he did when we had Suarez in the team making runs for him to pick out but he's getting more goals now.

The BBC feed was just harping on about gaping holes in the Liverpool defence, so it's only logical the next thing to appear is a Liverpool goal.
