Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [18th - 20th March 2016]

It'll probably change in 6 weeks time but Skrtel seriously needs gone, Lovren looks 'okay' now, Sakho good compared to Liverpool defence we've seen in recent years. That said seeing the back of all three wouldn't be terrible unless Sakho manages to hold his form longer than a few weeks.

Don't blame a single one of those players for this defeat, the blame lies solely at the feet of Klopp.

Truly awful substitutions today and Skrtel put in possibly the worst performance by any Liverpool player all season. Out of position for every Southampton attack, hoofed it long and gave possession back to Southampton every time it came near to him and completely ruined our back line. At fault for all 3 goals after getting sent off midweek.

Most livid I've been all season

Its both really. But yeah Klopp's in game management hasn't really been all that good since he has got here at all.

I mean obviously not Joe and Phil because <3.

We had Toure on the bench who has actually been pretty reliable recently. Skrtel should've been off after the first goal went in.

EDIT: Didn't realise that. Klopp's fault lol, that is ridiculous Toure has looked good and Skrtel sent off in that U21 as you said and garbage before injury also.

Only positive I can take from that game is hopefully Klopp will realise which of our CBs needs to be shown the door first in the summer. Outstanding player for us in the past but he's regressed massively ever since we tried playing with a high line and started playing it out from the back when Rodgers joined us.

LFC have conceded as many goals in 40 minutes with Martin Skrtel in the team than their previous 795 minutes without him.

That Mitrovic celebration has cheered me up :D

The fan falling over instead of grabbing him :D

I thought it looked like an oh **** and get outta the way rather than falling lol.

Loved that he got embraced as though a team member celebrating though.

Once Klopp has a summer transfer window Liverpool will be much better. In theory Liverpool, United, City and Chelsea will all be much much better next season but:

Liverpool don't necessarily have the funds to spend that much in the summer + potentially no CL

United currently have the biggest retard in management right now at the helm and we aren't sure he won't be here next year. V. unlikely to have CL

City have a new manager who is very much an unknown quantity and is used to managing clubs with easily one of the top first XIs in world football in leagues were 90% of the games are easy wins. City need rebuilding and have a couple of top but injury prone players.

Chelsea look like they might lose a couple of star players over the summer and we don't know who their manager will be and they are even less likely than us to get CL.

Big big summer for all 4 teams.

You mean 5 teams. Leicester.

What do you mean?

Leicester will have a little more money next season but they will probably lose all their best players and probably their manager.

Extremely unlikely, not least because Ranieri says he loves it and wants to spend several years there before retiring and there isn't any reason that Leicester wouldn't give him a long term contract now.

Aside from that there is very little reason for players to leave next year. Leicester will almost certainly be in the champs league, those players are playing great together and have a shot to show themselves off in the CL next year anyway and great on the counter, solid defence is a combination that should work well in the CL, getting out of the group stage is more than possible for them.

If Leicester blow it next year, fully possible, they can leave the year after, the big name players will have no trouble getting a move for 17/18 season. They've fought long and hard for that team and with that team to get where they are, not taking part in the CL with Leicester is something worth sticking out another year for. I think they'll maybe lose one player to an absurd offer but they have no financial need to sell multiple players.

Vardy just signed a new contact, unless I'm mistaken. It does suggest that they will hold onto their top players.

They will move to bigger teams (historically before someone says "but they won the league) and get paid much more money. Mahrez is young but Vardy isn't. Either way, they will really struggle if big sides come in for them.

So Aguero decides that he is being fouled and stops and the ref just gives a card because Aguero was whinging. That is not a yellow. Its the first 10 minutes for gods sake.
