Maybe its rodgers way of telling fsg we need more players....lol who am i kidding.
We had a perfectly good one who had a few rough times. He's kept Napoli in a few games single handedly when I've watched
We need to take Gerrard out of the team or move him to a less vital position. It's so obvious we work much better when the younger players joins together in midfield and works hard. He's more more of a hindrance now as he completely messes up the balance and makes Henderson's head drop when they're both on the pitch.
Gerrard and Henderson in midfield? Turned out as well as I thought. It's actually frightening to think Rodgers thought it could work 
The only way you play Gerrard as a deep lying playmaker is in a 3 man midfield when you've got 2 people cover him. To play him there with Henderson is plain stupidity - Henderson has no idea how to play as a CM as part of a 2. And to do it against a team that you know will press you in midfield and look to break on you? You need your head tested.
One of Coutinho or Sterling need to come off for Lucas or Allen if we're to stand a chance.

He's also saved you losing points. He will improve but your defence is shocking without Sakho and Flanagan. How can you have so many defenders injured?

It's the only plausible explanation. Why else would you play 2 players in midfield roles that they're clearly not capable of playing?

Yes but here is difference Kelly has barely played so he might not be fully fit in his first game but he won't be as bad as Johnson is being right now. Cissokho I agree is terrible rather of given Robinson a chance lol
He's made a few howlers. Especially the "flap" against Man C over X-mas.

4-2-4 is nonsense without two rock solid DMs. We have one and he's on the bench.
Coutinho is going through a bad spell going forward and is offering no protection for Cissokho who's about as reliable as the Iraqi information minister.
Gerrard couldn't control a remote controlled brick and gives it away when we have too many people committed forward. This position does not suit his style of play and if it's a case of play him there or not play him at all it's an easy decision.
We're very fortunate to not be 4-1 down and Rodgers needs serious words with himself at halftime. If he fears a backlash by not dropping Gerrard he won't succeed at Liverpool. If Gerrard has it written in to his contract that he has to play every minute of every game, like I believe he has, then Liverpool doesn't mean as much to him as individual honours do. Either way, we played better while he was out and I welcome him being out through retirement sooner rather than later.

I've clearly said Gerrard can't play as a deep lying midfielder as part of a 2. Some people fail to see that Henderson can't play as a midfielder either. Gerrard failed to stop Villa's attacks but at least he was there, Henderson was somewhere on the half way line looking back.
I know it's fashionable to just blame Gerrard but open your eyes a bit to Henderson's clear limitations as a midfielder.

Chelsea 2nd goal was his fault. So that's 6points. Against stoke the 3rd goal again right through him like he wasn't there. Didn't cost us points but put us in a situation at 3-4. Hopefully its a form thing.
Oh give over you played better yes after you /kicked us out of the game for ten minutes and got away with a red card and two pens you numpty
