Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 2nd September 2012]

Yes I know but he was better today. Still getting back match sharpness as is everyone really.
Silva has been terrible the first two games, today he looked a lot fresher. I know he was up against poor opposition but good for his confidence to play well.
Kolarov could have been off several times? Truly lol.

He did two cynical tackles and got one card for them, but the jump in on Ferdy, he's 5 yards away when he jumps braces and smashes into him, zero attempt to change direction, there was absolutely no need for any contact at all let alone completely smashing into him. That is a straight red really, at best a second yellow, then he went and did it a second time, late, no chance of getting the ball kept going jumped and smacked into a player, both seemed on purpose. Minimum he deserved 3 yellows today, arguably 4, and two of them could have been straight reds.

Redknapp knew full well what he was saying. He left Spurs in 4th - he's now piling the expectancy on Spurs to at least finish their again so that if and when they don't, he can turn around and stick 2 fingers up at Levy.

On a side note, how ****ed off must Jamie Redknapp be with AVB replacing his Dad? When commenting on AVB and Chelsea last season, he was very much talking as Fat Frank's cousin rather than an impartial pundit and his dislike for AVB was as clear as day.

Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique, Sahin, Allen, Gerrard, Borini, Suarez, Sterling.

Bring it on. Love Liverpool v Arsenal!

Emmanuel Mayuka is able to play today!!! :D Hopefully we will start him with a pep talk of "you won with Zambia, win for Southampton!"

Maya Yoshida is away on international duty in Iraq and wasn't set to join up with the squad for this weekend sadly, I don't think Gaston is able to play either :( (not 100% sure on this as dead line day always confuses me to when you are able to register players).

Either way I am not all that confident for a result but it will be fun to see St Marys sell out for a tv game :)

Gerrard on the right wing? Whip in some great crosses for the target man... Oh wait.

Downing injured? Or on the bench?

Downing injured? Or on the bench?
On the bench.

Rodgers said a few weeks ago he'd be picking his teams on what he saw in training and on that basis Sterling was an easy choice. Also made a comment about young players being fearless and not afraid to take people on which was obviously aimed at Bottler.

It'll be good to see Sahin play, I'm curious to see if he can recapture the form he showed at Borussia Dortmund. If he does, Allen and Sahin could be an excellent midfield partnership for Liverpool. Liverpool vs Arsenal games are usually good to watch, I'm hoping this is no different.

Arsenal: Mannone, Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Arteta, Diaby, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud.

Subs: Koscielny, Martinez, Santos, Ramsey, Coquelin, Gervinho, Walcott.

Mannone = lol
Diaby = lol
Goals = lol?

Least Gerv and Walcott aren't playing.

No one really defensive in midfield for Liverpool there. Should be a good game. Arsenal have only conceded ten shots on their goal in the two games so far. Going to be tough to break down.

I don't mind Jenkinson, bit raw but looking better with every game. Pretty nippy too.
