I love it when we dare the opposition to score. Its amazing how often they don't oblige really. If teams punished us more and we didn't have DDG we would be massively mid table.

Koeman seems upset, I don't think he understands what a hand ball is.

The Simpson one especially, his arm is down by his body and if it doesn't hit his arm it hits him in the midriff. Never a penalty in a million years, and thankfully wasn't given.

What an atmosphere! Best Fans! Amazing 3 points - we're gonna do this... COYB!!!!!!!!

You're getting top 4 and LVG is going to stay :)

I was listening to the radio on the way home from work and it was starting to turn into a 'give him one more year phone in'. It's starting to shift back now top 4 is becoming a reality again.

As for us I think Lukaku and Barkley are going to be gone. Stones I'm not so sure anyone would pay what we think he's worth after RM's coaching amounting to 18 months of go and do what you want. Even after RM's lovely same old post match interview the first thing Ian Wright said was that he says all the right things but no one believes it anymore. This season should have us lose our best players and on paper it's the most talented crop I have seen for years.

Chelsea aside with Jose anyway, is there a side in the PL that's done worse than us considering the squad? Even Chelsea are now 6 points ahead of us and they didn't start playing until Christmas. Liverpool had a terrible start and are 7 points clear of us.

LvG is not staying beyond the end of the season. Even if we get 4 anyone with half a brain cell would realise that:

a) we have played dire football
b) he hasn't improved anyone and has sent most players backwards
c) we have had a terrible season
d) if we get top 4 its because the rest of the teams going for it have been ridiculously erratic.
e) we need to spend a lot in the summer and so far he hasn't exactly spent well
f) if we want mourinho to take over then its now or never
g) no one genuinely thinks that he is doing a good job or would do a better one with more time because there has been no progression in the team since he took over. In fact we have been better since he appears to have loosened the reigns.

It's odd really, given how badly the other 'big 5' teams have been in the consistency, this title should have been a walk in the park for any of them. To be struggling for Europe football in a gift season such as this is very suspect. It would be bad for MU if he gets another season.

Its embarrassing if we are completely honest. The silly thing is that normally Leicester wouldn't be anywhere near top and without them we would be in 4th place now and would rarely have been outside top 4 all season. In a normal season we would be 6-7th at this point and completely out of the top 4 race.

No one on here disagrees with any of that but even Fergie coming out in support of him and the old line being pedalled about him bringing through youth and giving youth a chance (Let's be honest he stumbled into that).

Any time though I hear phone in's from fans that went to the game or season ticket holders they don't seem to want Jose.

If you ever go on redcafe plenty don't want mourinho, almost no one wants giggs and even less want LvG to stay beyond the end of the season.

The youth thing is a funny one as well. He has given youth a chance when we have been reduced to a bare bones XI and thats pretty much it. Without a huge list of injuries he wouldn't have given more than 2-3 a chance. Even then he has persisted with Fellaini a lot when we have much better options. Man is a complete tool.

I've read in the past that he intentionally keeps small squads so that youth gets a chance when injuries stack up. No idea whether it's true or not though as i don't really know much about him from his career pre-united other than the highlights.

Thats practically a direct quote from LVG from a few weeks ago (and Im pretty sure he said that before at OT too).

Its all well and good giving youth a chance, but when he was at Barca and Bayern they were still clearly in the top 2 - 3 clubs in the league even after a few injuries. This is clearly not the case with Utd at the moment. Martial, Rashford and even Verela have all been brilliant, and Lingard and a few others have also done very well indeed but when you start relying on 4 or 5 young players constantly the inconcistancies show up more readily which therefore puts the defence under more pressure than would normally be the case (less said about Rojo yesterday the better)

I wouldnt be surprised at all if the owners did give LvG the final year of his original deal if Utd get top 4 , it would be a huge mistake given his spending has been very hit and miss and the performances have generally been ***** but as long as the club continues in CL the owners wont care very much.

Arsenal are still in the fight for top 4, as a couple of wierd results could easly put them back in amongst City, Utd and West Ham. Not really sure anyone else can get amongst it but next weekend could clear a few things up depending on results of a few games

He'll get another year I think sadly, and we'll have another year of mind numbingly boring football. Players will continue to get worse under him.
