I thought Pochettino would be heading to Manchester instead of Mourinho?

Levy would make any negotiations nigh on impossible (not suggesting he should do anything else, but cant see Poch moving this summer with Spurs practically gaurenteed CL next season)

I guess its still mathmatically possible for Arsenal and City /Utd/ WH to get above Spurs and for Liverpool to win the Europa and City to win the CL (ie Spurs in fourth, but not to get a CL spot) , but cant really see any one of those happening let alone all 3

Even more rumours over the last few days that LvG is staying for the final year of his contract, really hope it is just rumour because Utd are still battling for 4th / FA Cup (after City's results once Pep was announced, this would be good reason to do so) but I really wouldnt be surprised at this point if he did stay.

Pochettino would just resign wouldn't he?

I can see Arsenal going above Spurs in the end, as they look the more likely to finish as runners up this season.

I'd imagine it's not as straight forward as just resigning. There would no doubt be peanlty clauses in his contract that stop (or at least make it stupidly expensive) him from doing it.

If, and I have no idea whether it would prove to be the case, he had his heart set on leaving Spurs for whoever then 1 way or another he'd leave. It's bad enough trying to keep a player against his wishes but with a manager it's nigh on impossible and just doesn't make sense to keep him against his wishes.

Do people think that Spurs will actually challenge for the title next season. They are currently behind Leicester and does anyone expect City, Chelsea, United and Liverpool to be as poor as this season again?

In a normal season Tottenham wouldn't be anywhere near the top of the table with their points total.

Last season at this point Chelsea had 76pts so Tottenham would only be 14pts off...

Season before that it was 71pts at this stage so only 9pts off top.

This season they are getting beaten by Leicester so logically Pocettino going to Leicester would be the only upwards move for his career? Do me a lemon. City, United, Spurs and Liverpool would all be a step up for him regardless of the outcome of this season.

All have much larger budgets and will in all likelihood be above spurs come the end of next season.

Chelsea and Manchester City, literally, have new managers. Liverpool have a new manager. Arsenal and Manchester United are the only clubs that remain, that in my humble opinion are of a reputation and status higher than Tottenham, and Wenger will not be sacked for the club to hire their rivals manager.

That leaves Manchester United.

or maybe he's excited about building a future with spurs? the timing is spot on. new stadium on the horizon, large tv revenue, great crop of young players he can work with to get the most out of.

he's got a fantastic opportunity to turn spurs into a real force over the next decade

Ok this has nothing to do with last weekends games anymore. If you want to talk about managers then start a new thread or at least do it in the sack thread.
